Sign Up Now!It doesn’t seem to include the A Leagues, only FA content and state NPLsIf it gets the A-League into more venues and pubs, then I’m all for it.
Hmmm. It doesn’t. That’s a shame. Because A-Leagues run by APL not FA now.It doesn’t seem to include the A Leagues, only FA content and state NPLs
A chance to fulfil its stated aim around the IX key principles... Messaging from FA has been pretty consistent these past few years. Can someone explain to me why the FA wants to go into direct competition / war with the A League.
What's in it for them?
Is it out of spite because the APL separated from them or are there other factors at play?
Seems a huge gamble for something that may blow up in their faces.
To be clear, I'm not against it.
And things like proposed futsal league which is exciting...It doesn’t seem to include the A Leagues, only FA content and state NPLs

Winter football,
Joining ALL of football (baring APL) in one pyramid,
Getting youth leagues set up for both mens and womens pathways
Controlling our own production (so that thigns like VAR can be implemented properly) and also so that broadcast package can be controlled by FA and not by the mercenary foreigners.
Only thing missing now is to get the rights to Matildas and Socceroos .. as long as they are FTA though this will do for now. 99% of Australian football in one placeHeaven.
I think this production mob are pretty "costco" though and bundling everything together means they can sell it to broadcaster ... who knows.... they cant rely on the dwindling revenue from Aleagues forever.Seems like a huge cost drain on them though for a mob you wouldn't think are flush with cash.
No announcement about money, but I would assume they must see some value in spending the money to cover production costs.Did they get money for it?
Big if true
Big anyway if not and they are broadcasting all levels
I believe they have.No announcement about money, but I would assume they must see some value in spending the money to cover production costs.
Multiple cameras isnt cheap... they must have a broadcast deal lined up ... mustn't they?
shut up and TAKE MY MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!I believe they have.
I see it slightly differently. Not distancing themselves out of spite, rather just trying to be the best competition they can be and not blindly following or pandering to APL. I think FA are really barracking for A-League to do well. And they also really want the Championship to be professional and push for connection to A-League eventually. You cant half tell the FA are distancing its self as far away as possible from the APL and A league, They will def push the NST as the main comp in Australia.
at least it confirms that the incentives at the fa are still aligned with helping the grassrootsI see it slightly differently. It is high time and long overdue a FA looks after its flock and the the Feds incl coming to party.A chance to fulfil its stated aim around the IX key principles... Messaging from FA has been pretty consistent these past few years.
