NPL 2025

Hey guys! Recording a new episode of the Pitch to Park podcast tomorrow with new South Melbourne signing George Mells! If you guys have any NPL or general football questions for us to answer, feel free to reply and we may get to it on the pod!
hey mate, sorry know nothing of you, you guys local or abroad ? focus on Oz football ?

Congratulations on promotion. Let's hope for a stellar season! 🦁

Preston Lions is back in the top flight for the first time since 2009. The Victorian powerhouse will return to the state’s top flight after securing promotion from VPL1 with a come-from-behind 3-1 win over Langwarrin. The Lions’ 15-year absence has seen them drop as low as State League 1 before storming back up the pyramid in recent years. Preston claimed the State League 1 North-West title in 2019 and followed it up with a VPL2 premiership in 2022. After finishing eighth last season, the Lions earned a third promotion in four completed seasons to return to the NPL.

Premiership-winning coach Louis Acevski said it was the culmination of a plan started eight years ago. “Eight years ago we started a journey, we’ve got the club back to where it deserves,” he told club media. “It means a whole lot, we’re surrounded by good people, they’ve become good mates, so today means everything. “I keep saying it’s only the beginning for us, we’re going to keep growing and getting better at the things we do. “We spoke about the commitment and the sacrifice, some (players) from overseas, some from interstate and missing families. “They should all be super proud of their efforts and I’m hoping we’ll be together again and go again.”

Any update or details on where Victory NPL will play their home matches??
Joey Lynch said they’re trying to host games at the Home of the Matilda’s probably why they have night games scheduled in their fixture. If not, perhaps Veneto club?

How can a professional football academy, and Australia's greatest ever football (according to the new new dawn) club NOT have a home ground sorted?

That’s the story of professional football here over the last twenty years.
How hard is it to be like EVERY single other club around Australia and approach a local council and rent a ground? Even State league clubs have a local place to train and play? Don't they have a lease agreement with AAMI park, why dont the NPL boys (they don't have girls yet do they?) play there over the winter ... crowds not gonna be much more than what it was on the weekend against WU for NPL, surely?

how many clubs in VIC own their own grounds?

in NSW i think it's only sydney united and marconi that own their own grounds.

The rest are council ground. However i'm unsure regarding Sutherland Sharks and Mt Druitt Town Rangers.

Knights, Gully, Bulleen off the top of my head but not many... All the rest have long standing leases and know where they are playing every week :)
