NPL 2025

I wanted to overlay the Capital Football logo onto it but my phone doesn't have that capability haha
I’ve used in a couple spaces, but definitely will try fix up for you before the weekend (probably on the CPL fixture list posts they do)

I wanted to put it over "abc family" in the bottom right corner. Their logo would fit perfectly over it haha.

They (Brunswick) havent been convincing enough for me Im looking at teams in form for the run in and you have to say apart from the top 4 which I feel will be City, Georges, Bentleigh & Western cant see any other teams getting into the 4 that leaves 5th and 6th spot for a bunch of teams:
Sunshine are on a good run and hard to beat I think they will get 5th
Serbia same good run and hard to beat between them and Brunswick for 6th
Brunswick funny team they may sneak in they are a "lose just when you think they shouldnt" kind of team
Bulleen worst season in recent memory lost too many games and look to be rebuilding more than challenging if they make the 6 it will be interesting they still have to play City and last game is home v Serbia (that will be tasty)
Northcote same as Bulleen plus change of coaches all about next season now
Regarding these playoffs, anyone know the venue situation? Will it be 2 legged, higher team at home or completely neutral venues like the pro-rel playoffs in npl 2 & 3 a couple of years ago?

FFV: a two-week playoff system involving teams placed 3rd to 6th will determine the third promotion slot (3 v 6 and 4 v 5; then winner v winner).

Whether it's neutral venues, or home ground advantage for 3rd and 4th, I'm not sure. I'm leaning towards 3rd v 4th being home advantage, with the final being neutral.

EDIT: Here we go - confirmation of my guess

FT: Bankstown lions 1-0 BWE

BWE 10 points from safety, looks like the government grant signings haven't kicked in yet. lol

Makes me wonder, how did Queensland feel and react when they dumped all the regional clubs?
In most cases, all except Mackay, the regional teams withdrew of their own volition as far as I can recall. Mackay wanted to keep going (they were in FQPL1, i.e., the league below NPL, when they were kicked out having been relegated a season or two earlier), and they weren't happy when FQ excluded them. But yes, they did have their local FQPL3 comp to go into.

The situation is slightly different to ACT though, given air travel is involved for Brisbane clubs, and both bus and air travel for Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Toowoomba clubs. And in reverse for Mackay. Plus local buses between grounds and airports.

Wagga City Wanderers have been granted an exemption for juniors only to compete in NPLB next season onwards.

Which - as much as I do like that Riverina still has a presence at this level - is hilarious, given this was the direct part of the review singling out travel for YOUTH as the reason to cut Wagga and Yoogali

With the NPL competition there is an acceptance that clubs need to travel to the Riverina, however, community and junior players are not willing to travel beyond the previous Capital Football region limits of Cooma, Yass and Goulburn and will subsequently forfeit matches, which significantly impacts on the integrity of the competition and the experience had by all participants.
