Why on earth would an Aussie club want to join this if they have to pay their own travel and accommodation and no possible entry to the Club World Cup?

$10m annual budget behind it.

The OFC has targeted a Queensland-based club, given its large population of Pacific communities and Brisbane’s transit links into the region, but has also been told there is serious interest from elsewhere in Australia.

However, the Australian entrant will not be eligible for OFC-funded travel and accomodation, nor will it have access to the big carrot for participating clubs: entry to the FIFA Club World Cup.

The OFC claims support from Football Australia (FA).

I'd rather watch NPLV and it's not even close. This is just a gimmick. South Lakers should focus on NSD and not worry about these gimmicks. They do more harm than good.

Because it has that link with the FIFA Club world cup thing in 2029 I see it lasting till then, but once it serves that purpose and FIFA get bored and want to move onto something else it will probs go away.

As i said, it won't go beyond that.
