Long legs long arms can bring back your lonnnnng throw game but can the scouts find a jumper ? Any fuckin jumper who unintentionally head a ball towards 2 posts will do and the crowd rejoice. No we've got a visa spot open, surely one of our "scouts" will travel to Tanzania for a 2 meter tall player (doesn't have to be a player apparently, just 2m tall).
Oakleigh is miles ahead. Money, performance on field and a good home. That feels like a home.A long array of bad decisions that yes still plague us as with all clubs... no doubt we shouldve been more adaptable but obviously not and its come to the boil finally.
A few things though:
1. CT wasn't the coach to be a lifetime at south lets be honest - the pressure to constantly perform is non existent at a no support club like oakleigh is why he has succeeded.. he is at best good with a budget, he is by no means great (as some try to convince us here - may I remind them that even they were complaining about his playing style etc not too long ago or have they conveniently forgotten those details?)
2. The lack of conviction for JA is the telling blow as most point out. This is what we are paying for along with the needless persistence with Esteban! Recruitment is another issue that is multifaceted as most know and tied to coaches and board so we won't repeat the mistakes there - we would have a different convo now if Sawyer had stayed or was replaced properly lets not ignore that fact.
3. The disconnect with board etc is not new. The nepotism is at play at all clubs (ours shines through bc we are falling apart currently). Which club doesn't have closed off inner circles? The difference is at most clubs heads wouldve rolled, where we have utter silence, but again for how long bc I can't see them able to sustain the current situation, without taking steps behind the scenes to maintain control.
4. The people that have popped up out of the woodwork all of a sudden are the same "dormant" that have been non existent for so many years in their majority, very few have been paid up members I can guarantee. And Smfcmike is not the benchmark to tell us what is going right or wrong,
5. For those that want sth to be an oakleigh, then I'm sorry but that is the real end of the club, they are not the same calibre or ever will be, lets not forget that FACT! MK (to a lesser extent heidelberg and preston) are the only clubs that can claim to be anywhere near close to our status like it or not, and if we have forgotten that then may aswell not worry what league we play in bc its already over!
The question now is proper debate/forum for us to get things back on track and quickly.. the board failed at its attempt with half baked measures and unless they know something we don't regarding NST the time has come for actual answers (either way an annoucement is warranted or resigantions).. ill say again if they know that we are moving to h&a and OFC guaranteed officially, then quite frankly what do I care what happens to the NPL it will be our under 23s squad getting gametime anyway, that's for your oakleighs at best, the problem is if it's not (as we continue to fear)!
Was awesome at middle Park. The valkanis family cooking up right as you entered the turnstilesI've always loved Bentleigh greens souvlakis, up there as one of the best imo. Last time i came to Lakeside, i thought I'd try a souvlaki, i knew it wasn't going to be amazing, but i thought I'd buy one anyways, atleast it helps support the club.
I don't know what they served me that day, it definitely wasn't a souvlaki, it was more like a burrito or something lol.
Not sure what's up with the food situation but far out, is it really that hard to cook up a half decent souvlaki?
It should be said they've spent more than most teams put together for a long time, 20 years in fact. Overall for little reward, should have won at least 7-8 championships. What they have won was gift wrapped for them by South.Oakleigh is miles ahead. Money, performance on field and a good home. That feels like a home.

I hate oakleigh. Don't know where you got the idea I support them.No wait, you weren't joking!? Ofcourse it feels like a home your 5 supporters are related! Remind me again was the new stadium/home build for your expansion out of the NPL or to house your massive trophy cabinet?
*Atleast we got one fact confirmed, your all apostate SMFC supporters that give themselves away at every opportunity, those ones that will come loudly claiming they never "abstained" when the tide returns to normal...
Ελα, με τις ευχÎÏ‚ μας, , 1 more choakleigh fan and you can create your own thread....if you aren't all the same person that is!![]()
You must live in a really ... umm "questionable" home?Oakleigh is miles ahead. Money, performance on field and a good home. That feels like a home.
And the big tubs of ice and soft drinks ... what time to be alive...Was awesome at middle Park. The valkanis family cooking up right as you entered the turnstiles
What is Oakleigh's budget for their women's team? lol Are they even allowed to leave the kitchen and drive un-accompanied to soccer training? It should be said they've spent more than most teams put together for a long time, 20 years in fact. You also have to factor in that like Avondale its a low pressure club, no supporter expectation, they lose a big cup game last night and nobody cares, this is a comfortable environment to perform in. Pretty much everything gets funneled into the senior mens team. I dont even want to imagine what Souths budget for its womens programme is..especially this year.
Even when they build the new stand the total seating capacity is about 800 on both sides. Not really good enough for anything beyond npl. Essentially another Bundoora. You must live in a really ... umm "questionable" home?
I was thinking more the unsavoury people attending but THAT tooEven when they build the new stand the total seating capacity is about 800 on both sides. Not really good enough for anything beyond npl. Essentially another Bundoora.
I was listening to MMM driving in to work and they had Ange's "best mate" George Colombaris on the phone talking about his days watching Ange at Hellas ... was laughing my arse off.Ange winning is incredibly bittersweet. On one hand you're proud of him, on the other you cant help but feel the irony of it all, the club is milking it despite the fact that they are in the process of relegating us. Ange wins trophies, whilst we have 4 blokes in our dugout who've never coached seniors.
My understanding is that Ange actually watches Heidelberg games from the UK because Johnny A is coach and his best mate Nick Deligiannis is the football manager there. Apart from name dropping us a few times i doubt Ange would have any interest in whatever South is meant to be now.
That wont stop the board behaving like pork chops today though.
George ain't his best mate. I know his best mate.I was listening to MMM driving in to work and they had Ange's "best mate" George Colombaris on the phone talking about his days watching Ange at Hellas ... was laughing my arse off.
I know man, THATS why i was laughing... every wog and his dog is coming out of the woodwork today...George ain't his best mate. I know his best mate.
This was expected as they all suddenly found the promised land... yet again.. and continue to congratulate themselves for their own work!Ange winning is incredibly bittersweet. We should all be watching bergers games, especially our so called coaching staff... who knows maybe something can miraculously rub off..My understanding is that Ange actually watches Heidelberg games from the UK because Johnny A is coach and his best mate Nick Deligiannis is the football manager there. I already do!!!!!!! hahahaahAt this rate we will start missing Estebanball by the end of it, gamoto!
