I can take reserves in NPL but we HAVE to field a competitive side in the FA Cup at least...

lest start by fielding a reserves side in the NPL first... Monday was U15s at best.

NPL VIC FINALS SERIES --- Late Aug to Sept

FFA CUP --- Early Feb to Late Sept

NSD --- October to ?

OFC Pro League --- January to May

Can someone draft up a timeline, how are we going to operate a squad that needs the depth of 4 comps when we can't even create enough depth for one comp?

I think the best solution is to franchise our name out to a couple of new entities ...

South Melbourne Victorious Pty Ltd for OFC Pro League.

Ive finally made the connection.

Nick is "doing a Trump" threatening FA with us leaving for an Oceania league if the Championship doesnt become a fully fledged league.

Give me an nbl team and i'll be on board. The 2 current nbl franchises in Melbourne have been holding back Basketball for far too long!

We should also explore entering the big bash league with how pathetic the melbourne stars and renegades have been.

Focus on NSD and OFC Pro league, bin off the NPL.

FFA Cup is the bonus.

Yeah I suggest we will field u23 in NPL moving forward if all this does go ahead... what strange times we are living in.

You play your best wherever the most money is at the end of the day!!! If clubs are getting big $$$ in that comp why would i not play reserves in the NPL?

Who is turning up to watch South play a team from the Moreland? I get what ur saying tho, regarding the "growing brand" thing, it is a FIFA tournament on the wikipedia article it mentions a possible invite to the FIFA Club World Cup...

And to add to it the fact we could be the only club in Australia posting a profit while playing in a sunday league and also gaining an invite to the club world cup!! Imagine the heart attacks of those franchises, that alone green lights it for me!

Im curious how Preston plans on securing a record crowd when the entire side opposite the stand will be closed off? That side looked totally full when they played Altona, will be a big crowd but it wont be a record, i expect a creative figure to be released.
