Club could be looking to appoint a caretaker coach for the remainder of the season with the aim of avoiding relegation and take a midtable finish.

There needs to be a long term strategy on who will coach in 2026. Get a proper coach who will bring in some quality signings and get the club back to where it deserves to be.
 
I dont know who can come in that can help us start scoring goals again. We look so weak everywhere. We've only scored 2 in 7 weeks, barely create chances, its a mess.
 
Problem is we are 6-8 weeks away from the transfer window opening. Our recruitment was so poor that we are no more than a midtable team. That is the sad reality.

We need Mells and Bonada playing. Brennan is now more of an impact player and can’t complete 90 mins anymore. We have no real midfield, so the caretaker coach will need to get creative in bolstering that area.

And then you bring in 2-3 mercenaries that will cost you big $$$ with the aim of helping you avoid relegation.

Forget finals. We need to focus on accumulating as many points as possible to avoid relegation.
 
Ive got no dog in the fight but I know that whilst at Bulleen the football played under Fausto De Amicis was just brilliant to watch. A coach that will at least bring back positive attacking football and a chance to oversee the changes that need to be made to bring the good times back to South

Love Fausto but he has never coached in the Vic top flight and he is currently at Malvern...its a huge step up.

Yeah how many times have I heard that down the years - just needs a chance thats all, a lot of coaches come through the ranks this way the most important thing is football philosophy combined with players that fit the playing style required - can be hugely successful

He wont have the players to fit the style he wants. South players have literally forgotten how to play football with that fuckwit in charge.

When you watch heidelberg players are constantly moving off the ball, our players are just static. Mind boggling how many times they went from the keeper to the edge of our box without the ball being lifted off the ground.

It must be said Kudos to Esteban for stepping down straight after the match.... it was time....

Obviously this was the do or die moment but it was a gentlemanly exit from my perspective....

Poor from the club that no acknowledgement or announcement nearly 20 hours later......
 
Can’t fault Esteban’s passion and love for the club but his message wasn’t getting through and he lost the dressing room so it was time to go a few weeks earlier. He was a good coach and got the best out of the playing group to compete with Oakleigh and Avondale when they were spending much more $$ on their budgets compared to us.

Now it’s time for the board to actually show the ambition and sign a proper coach and rebuild the squad in the transfer window for the Aus Championship before we become the laughing stock of that competition too

Ive got a sinking feeling we are going to make 2-3 "wonder signings" during the window... with no plan nor coach behind them... Inevitably some Asteras Tripolis or Volos wonderkid or perhaps an old Mitroglou type to "bring the sheep through the gates" but this is going to be really embarrassing for the current hardy few that still bleed for this club... we are, as of now, officially, a shambles....

In a way, being embarrassed this year (both relegated and finishing last in the Championship) should be the straw that breaks the camels back ... but sitting patiently through it all is going to be nighmare fuel....

Buckle up for more pain boys and girts .... watch what losing to Eastern Lions is going to feel like on Saturday...
