Fausto is a gun coach would bring standards to South but would also demand that Leigh Minopoulos be sacked as he works with his assistant Fab. Would the board put up with that, probably not given their greedy nepo approach.

Would align with Nick Marinos going to either Malvern or Bayside, the latter are deciding between Mariano’s or their young assistant Dean Menere for their coaching role. Both clubs have serious ambitions to climb the ranks of the Vic pyramid and have big budgets.

Dean and Johnny A no chance I was told yesterday. Tolios likewise.

Mehmet Durakovic is a friend of Andrew Mesourouni and the board. Another puppet appointment perhaps if he comes in.
 
I think the club should actually sit out the nsd this year and give it to more deserving clubs. Pains me to say it but probably for the best for Heidelberg and Oakleigh to represent Victoria instead.

Undeniable that Avondale and either Oakleigh or Bergers would best represent VIC this year.... will probably go and and win the thing based on form.... while us and Preston hide behind our "massive crowd metrics" and other such malakies.....

Why are we insisting on "getting the band back together"? Mehmet was a workhorse player, legendary for sure but we already had him as TD for while a decade ago didnt we? At least he has coached at Aleague level...... If it is Fausto, again legendary player, much loved, but we need someone to perform miracles with a broken squad and no money to rebuild in time .....

I think Preston will do ok, they have a good squad and will make the top 6 this year comfortably.

Our club should be ashamed to take part in it though.
 
just fascinating what has transpired - shame on the club for a coach who gained success to go this way depsite losing the changeroom, it shouldn't have got there in the first place.
All the best fellas some testing times ahead whereas opposing clubs must/are licking their lips.
 
I dont think he lost the change room as such. I think in the end it just became too hard for the players to carry out his tactics. The players had a crack in the 1st half yesterday.

The stats tell me that this team had a horrible pre season because the team looks incredibly unfit. If you've copped 17 goals and 14 of them have been in 2nd halves what does that tell you? In fact the last 6-7 games South have not actually been behind at half time. Every week its a 2nd half capitulation. I see 2 reasons for this 1) fitness 2) Estebans horrible use of subs and in game adjustments.

like bringing in a CB (and captain no less) for DM when we are chasing the game?

Your point about fitness and poor second halfs is bang on.. last eyar we relied on Andy coming on as super sub, this year we play Max as a #9 ... lol players were clearly frustrated.. I heard (or thought I heard) a fairly clear "fuck off" from one player towards the bench late in second half.... Lets hope Fausto is the saving grace.... Im happy to ride the bad times with the good, but this has been terrible......

Im off interstate for a couple of days, somebody please remind me to chuck a couple of hundoes on Eastern Lions to beat us in the cup ... might as well make our shitness pay.... 😭😭😭

Club wants him to resign but he is on a contract (two years to go on it) and wants to be paid out.

What a fucken shambles. The Neos Kosmos or 3XY radio rumour of non-late payment to players is true too, Esteban owed money on his current contract. Board has us in shambles.

He was out of contract last season after the Aussie cup and was given a 1 year contract for this season owned money no clue on that but he isn’t on a two year contract that’s all I know

If that is in any way true then the next announcement from the club better be regarding the announcement of a membership buy back scheme!
