Im sad Esteban is gone.... we layed all our problems at his feet ... 4 full seasons and 2 premierships, 1 x dockerty cup and 1 x charity shield... not to mention one shaky penalty away from Australia Cup final....... Not a bad haul of silverware..... Lets see what the new dawn will bring.. I hope we dont face and Esteban led team in the future....

I'll be honest i never rated him. He was leading us into a relegation battle in 2021 before Covid shutting down the season saved us. Then coming out of Covid most clubs tightened their budgets and we were in the top 3 spenders along with avondale and oakleigh. Now Preston has come up and spent big bucks, dandy thunder are spending heaps under Piddick, bergers with JA etc and Esteban and his tactics were finally left behind.

The only thing i sympathise with him is that his team selections were often very likely comprimised by people in higher places which would have made his job hard. Perhaps one of the reasons why nobody wants to come.

Will always appreciate his contribution, but this year he wasnt doing his legacy any good. We all saw how stale his football got and he was given ample opportunity to correct it, to alter it, tweak it, call it what you like, and he didnt, and we paid for it.. We have said before he is not the one to blame for all of it but he holds most of the blame for the onfield stuff. His substitution strategies alone this season prove the above point.

As for facing one of his sides ever again, its easy, all we will have to do is guard against the long balls, not like any of us have seen any alteratives tactically!

Esteban thank you for the successes and we can even forgive some of the losses, but it is time to grow beyond that system, and since he couldnt do it, we need someone that can!
 
If he had his time over again you bet he would have played his strongest team against st albans. I remember thinking that night that we could fall apart.

Im genuinely not going to miss him, horrible rocking up to 3 consecutive grand finals and knowing your team cant win.

Who gives a shit, they are nth maco with signed paperwork from grk politicos to back it up, its not smfc problem to sort that clusterfuck out , and all those sensitive armchair patriots that may have an issue with this appointment if it goes ahead, but didnt do anything about the slav maco issue at its height have no right to complain now!... ..
If he can bring what we need and crave, why shouldtwe care about anything else? He was good enough to play for us, successfully may i add, and i dont recall him ever stooping to the antics of the markobski types, which suggest a level of professionalism that should be a want for us in all departments to take the next steps.
 
Loza is a favourite son. Literally not 1 person would care if he got the job. He was loved when the club was relevant. Why would anyone care now that we are a nothing club?

Whether loza can get us out of this mess is a different matter. His success in this league came a long time ago. He is the better choice over Fausto but we really should be doing much better no disrespect to loza.
 
Loza is a very good coach he got an Altona team last season who rocked up with only a handful of players to their first pre season training after everyone had walked out before he got there to sign pretty much a whole squad of nobodies to finish 8th last season. Also he has won the VPL twice. He’s taken some pretty tough jobs over recent times so will be good to see what he could do with additional resources.

Obviously, the 3 top candidates should be JA, Tolios and Piddick but they aren’t realistic this far into a season unfortunately.

Loza would be the best option out of all the names that have come out over the past few days and I’d be most confident to stay up with Loza as coach. Also Maikousis said in the Greek Herald article today that they’re looking for a long term coach
