Official South Melbourne Hellas thread 🔵⚪

Our perennial problem, we have long needed a greater than NPL standard coach, but always wanted to pay NPL 2 prices and we end up with some guy named Sinisa (let's not get into that for obvious reasons) and who has a support cast whose primary resume reads "related to such and such"!!

Im seriously struggling to fathom how we are "supposedly" getting ready for NST in 5 months!!

Sinisa is so clearly out of his depth. One Port person was telling me he couldnt believe how bad our tactics were and that Port wont get an easier 3 points this season.

The Esteban effect is killing us now, our experienced players who've spent the past 3 years just thumping the ball long are too far down the track to learn to play differently, our younger players are not really npl standard.

The best and most dangerous player on the field was Ports Liston Diaz, South does not have a player of this quality in the squad.

A good coach can orchestrate a setup that can grind out results, but instead we have clueless Shrek coaching us.

Moving forward i think we will lose many of our remaining games by 3+ goals.

That 1st half was proof of exactly that! Diaz made Jankovic look slower than ever and our lines looked lost between them as has been all season. Today it wasn't just the lack of a striker especially in the 1st half, we were problematic across the whole park.. Mikkola is the biggest cog in any south side and it shows when he is missing, Mells was run ragged and Bonada as expected needs time, nothing else to show through the middle, there is absolutely no front line that can work in the slightest way - even in the second when we pushed (more so port sat back) we didn't look like we could score even with an extra 90 minutes!
Too slow out the gates seems to be our motto this season, as cant explain so many goals in the initial minutes and then catch up football .. cant solely blame the defence bc the lack of a holding midfield is allowing constant pressure on them but I think once and for all this season our otherwise comfort of a solid defence has been exposed as the bubble it obviously was.

Not to mention a player of Diaz' calibre wouldn't even consider coming to South.... THATS how low we have fallen.

Something smells rotten in Denmark.. VERY rotten... To go from clear 1st by 6 points to THIS ?!?!?!?!?! Form slumps happen when key players leave but this is beyond that...... I just hope to find evidence of whichever insider is destroying the club ... it will all come out in the end, too hard to keep a secret forever.....

Second half was actually a little better, but again NO urgency and no ideas in final third.. Goals have become rare than hens teeth when we have been used to big Goaltzides saving our bacon.... its over for the season for me....

At some point i think we will need to reach out to our opponents from yesterday and seek out a merger. If we can use any of our remaining clout to upgrade Ports ground and facilities it might be something to look at. The charade is over for South.

Good luck getting the board gone, turns out all the money they’ve put back is on IOU. I got told that last night at the game, that means we’re totally screwed.

The clubs in serious debt AND is failing to pay its players. The clubs having to pay back Andrew Mesourouni for his investment and sponsorship since his money was an IOU, that’s where the money is going. No wonder the players aren’t getting paid.

All of Melbourne knows about the non payments and players walking out. I’m just repeating what the NPL community knows.

But this clubs in serious serious trouble. Unless we secure a cash rich Greek like what Bayside Argonauts have with a 50 million net worth, good fucken luck us getting out the shit. The debt is probably nearly a million, and the sponsorship money is drying up quickly.
Last AGM they said no IOUs by memory..

You trust what pR bs comes out of their mouth.

Remind me why South have always done their AGM's end of season or right after jersey night. To fudge the figures and make it look better then what it is.

This lot are the masters of deception.
