What a club! Dockerty cup title 10 and a standalone record.
What a performance, and what a way to win it!! A final worthy of its name! Where to start it would be extremely hard to find any negative in that side! Firstly all due credit to Sinisa and i for one would be more than happy to see him extended into AU championship!
2 other things especially stood out to me though also, 1. The hunger today of Bonada and how much of a cog Mikkola actually is.. no need to mention Javi thats just second nature now! What can one even say other than take a bow Dovison, you are now engrained into SMFC folklore son, a display worthy of a highlights reel!

Its hard to go past the idea of what couldve been though, if only we had the guts to have made the necessary changes earlier!

The rest of them must be happy that we didnt make finals bc i find it hard to see which team would beat us!

I called it much to the dismay of some bergers fans around me from the 88th minute that we would score and that this would hurt more than losing to Avondale! From the reactions i believe to be true! 🤣

I thought heidelberg were hard done by with the dissalowed goal, unless im missing something. Problem with that club is that they have become a pack of whingers, so use to winning every week that now that a few results have gone against them they isolate these incidents and think the world is against them. They need to snap out of this mindset or they will go trophyless this season. The keepers post match sook blaming the refs shows that they are psychologically fragile.

Thats not to say they dont have legit gripes, but the reality is all clubs get screwed over at some point. Look at us with our 1 solitary penalty this season. Heidelberg scored a clear handball goal against dandenong city thats probably going to cost dandy finals football...but you didnt see them carry on over it.

Heidelberg are still the best team in Victoria, but our boys have massively closed the gap on them compared to when we played them in April and our performance against them 2 weeks ago with half a team out showed that we were always going to be a threat today. What we saw was that no matter where South is...the bergers historically always fear us when a trophy is on the line.

10 state/npl titles, 10 dockerty cup titles. Our pedigree even outside the top flight is still super strong.

I mean - I just went back and had a look, and he looked offside to me. The corner has been headed goalbound - but the player who tapped it in after that is on the goal line (from what I can see), and the only other player on the goal line is South Melbourne goalkeeper - so it's easily offside if that's the case. He should have just not touched it at all.

Tough last 2 weeks for the bergers, conceding In stoppage time.

Gone from having a hand on both titles, to almost nothing.

Whats the dockerty cup all time record now?

It’s been a tough few days for Heidelberg. Dockerty Cup loss, President has been charged with dodgy investor dealings. Not looking good!! Congratulations South Melbourne. If you’re gonna beat a rival nothing beats a last minute winner!!

Upon watching replays of the dissalowed goal and using heidelbergs own corner footage. The goal scorer is an offside position when the corner is taken, of course you cant be offside if you score directly from a corner, however another heidelberg player heads it to the player in question who returns back to an onside position and scores. I have no idea what the rule is but has the goal scorer been flagged for coming back from his initial offside position?

Edit: Again using bergers footage, if you pause it right on the header the scorer is offside.

Wild scenes at the HOTM. That’s another gutsy come from behind win to secure the 10th Dockerty Cup title.

Three months ago, everyone was celebrating our position in the relegation zone. Change of coach and this team is now wining silverware.

Our goal was clearly over the line - clear as day.

The linesman raised the flag immediately on the Bergers, so they were pretty confident it was the correct decision. Bergers have no one to blame but themselves. Their keeper coughed the ball up and the South attack pounced on the loose ball and Dovison slammed the ball home.

Bergers are starting to show signs of fragility. They’ve been broken after this loss. They conceded late last week to Avondale which will likely cost them the minor premiership. They’ve conceded late today and lost the Dockerty Cup. Bergers may be the best and fittest side, but they can’t win when it matters. That takes character, mental toughness and a club like South where winning is a way of life.

Where’s the Bergers footage? The office point should be counted from the header.

As a neutral, from my perspective (and only using the Football Victoria footage on the broadcast), looked like the goalscorer was offside.

Doesnt the rule apply as per interference or offside with open play. ie even if only offside position initially at corner and he comes back then gets involved all within the one play stream he is deemed as part of the play so offside stands either way! Had he not got involved it; clear goal!

I mean… if he’s deemed in an offside position, he kicked the ball - I’m not sure what interference will have to do with it, because it was headed goalbound by a Heidelbergs player from the corner - that’s where the offside point is from - the header, not the corner kick itself.

Now I’ve seen the footage you mentioned, and it’s still hard to conclusively say that the AR has this wrong (angles and all) - but it seems right enough to me that I’m siding with the boys in orange.
