Official South Melbourne Hellas thread 🔵⚪

You can’t fault the effort and the results.

He’s turned around the season.
I for one who was more than apprehensive about his appointment will say that he surprised me and yes it will be well deserved.. The squads capabilities was never in question but his eye for detail, his tactical (not always successful) adaptability, and his inclusion of some impressive) youth players (has bode very well for his eye of talent... not to say football.dprtmnt didnt also possibly play a positive role in the end with some solid needed additions as it looks!
Some minor tweaks to squad for AU championship from aleague drop offs perhaps and we ready to go!

I personally thanked Sinisa on Saturday, not just for the result, or the turn around in form or for the season, but for the fact that I now come to South games with my head held high. Yes our football can be sketchy at times, yes the high octane press doesnt always work and we are slow to implement... ..... BUT we are sometimes playing fearless, flowing, 3 movements from keeper to striker football which makes me very proud to watch... Win, lose or draw, the football on the pitch is entertaining, and for that I thank everyone involved in the turn around....
If we lose tomorrow night, but can go home being proud of the effort, and the football that is a WIN for me....

Sinisa, Sam and the boys have turned a disgruntled squad into a band of brothers, we all saw the scenes on Saturday, these guys love the club and their fans, they only concern I had was Andy clearly being un-happy for being subbed off.... and being a grouchy guts in the photos :P

Including the Gully game. Andy turned the ball over 10 times in a row...

If you're thinking that you'll get into the a league now because of this new league and the demise of western united, then let me save you the heartache.

As much as we would love to see clubs that actually deserve it, be in the a league, it'll never happen, they seem too focused on making these clubs out of nowhere, instead of promoting ones that have actual fan base, history and loyalty 😔

What happened to the “members would vote no”?

Relax peeps.. we know you want to give your dying league legit crdit with a proper football club but we will pass.. Have new memories to form australia wide vs opposition that actually have looooong heavily rooted lineages like ours!

You do your plastic... we will do OUR passion!!

Why does ANY club "deserve" to be in the Alegaue, your franchise included? They never paid the license fee in the early days and were propped up by FFA at the time.... just wondering what your criteria for being "deserving" is?

Well the way i see it, they wanted to grow the a league so they added clubs like western united which never had a public interest, was anyone crying out for a 3rd Melbourne based team?

In my view, if you wanted to grow the a league, why not let in one of the npl clubs who would be competitive on the field and have a supporter base that'll stick around even when they are at the bottom.

like why start a whole new club from scratch that's not guaranteed to succeed, when you've already got a few clubs in the npl right there in front of you.

We all know the reasons as to why this would never have included any NPL club.. inclusion was always something that they agreed to on paper, when it came close to any implementation all those conveninet fears took over...

Imagine the precedence set if one of those clubs worked... then no more excuses to exclude them all...
