They finally came to the right decision, but the politics leading up to it was fucked.Hey what do you guys think about Cadillac joining F1?
The right decision was political regardless MSC.They finally came to the right decision, but the politics leading up to it was fucked.
That was my thinking too mate, but obvs don't follow religiously like you and Nic....The right decision was political regardless MSC.
Yanky F1 owners know growth is all there to take grab.
They will ruin the true F1 DNA for like their sports they will turn the game into a show in time.
Had to be the right people. I think the only ones to seriously consider were Andretti, Penske, Haas (already in), and Chip Ganassi, and also direct manufacturers, like Cadillac. Jaguar back in the early 2000's is probably the next closest comparison to Cadillac coming in - and while they were a bit of a shit show in terms of success and management, they at least overall kept with the F1 DNA, etc.The right decision was political regardless MSC.

McLaren, Williams, and weirdly enough Mercedes were the most outspoken ones - citing "they'll take away our sponsors" and essentially "the $200m payment we all agreed that a new team has to pay us to come in during this period of the sport is not enough anymore."there sure must have been some angst towards Andretti, maybe the Teams didn't like it, obviously a Manufacturer would have been preffered hence GM/Cadillac espcially for the USA flag flying and growing supporter base behind the brand.
Yes Vegas seems to have grasped the F1 flavour whereas Miami is a "show" more than anything I hear you.
Yeah something like that. Essentially they agreed to something a few years back, that they Hulk Hogan'd now (Doesn't work for me brother).Yer I recall it was the other teams didn’t want to split their annual cut from funds.
Obviously FIA has worked them
Have heard ok things about this. As in - good to watch, but nothing groundbreaking if you've already seen the Senna doco from years back.I started watching the new Senna series on Netflix last night... it pretty good I think.
Yeah mate, purely "entertainment" but rather well done I think.Have heard ok things about this. As in - good to watch, but nothing groundbreaking if you've already seen the Senna doco from years back.
It's a dramatisation, so I would expect that anyways. Haven't had a chance to start on it yet
Might have to give it a start this weekend then I think - will see if I can get the missus into it. Will help her understand why I wanted the lego set I've been hinting at for christmas that I think she got me hahaYeah mate, purely "entertainment" but rather well done I think.
Obviously watched the doco years back but my admiration of him I had to watch this purley for my luv of F1 and 1 of the best ever drivers !Might have to give it a start this weekend then I think - will see if I can get the missus into it. Yep is a tragic ending that will always bring questions.Obviously watched the doco years back but my admiration of him I had to watch this purley for my luv of F1 and 1 of the best ever drivers !
Schumi and ol Fangio stand with him but wow this guy was in a zone I don't think others went.
I can't put hamilton near these 3 let alone Senna.
Like Maradona/Pele/Messi the emotion/drive what gravitates me towards winners like these.
Took me back those days him competing and he did fight so many against him and came back and made them eat their words.
They shouldn't have raced that Sunday, Moseley was a DH - they took out the electronic aids end of previous season to hobble the Williams more so Senna.
IMO blood is on their hands - incl drivers/teams, they knew through practice Imola surface was shit, cars weren't safe enough due to the changes.
We lost a hero/legend and we had to lose him for safety to improve 110% from then on - maybe that was his destiny without realising.
Vale Aryton, your spirit lives on.
