Other Sport interests and do you play ?

I am big into ice hockey, especially Australian. The AIHL and AWIHL are great leagues to watch and follow.
I also watch and follow the F1 a lot.

I'll watch the tennis when its the Australian Open and I have been seriously into the Tour de France before. The team tactics in professional cycling is quite addictive to get into. I also get into the summer and winter Olympics when they are on. But I probably watch more of the winter ones.
 
yer F1 is one of my favs to watch incl motogp !
This seasons F1 been great due to McLaren stepping up finally and Ferrari/MB.
RB have been a winning machine and Max is a gun driver.
I find motogp even more competitive.

TDF is quite interesting, epic cycle race.
Shame some of past ie Armstrong, I was enthralled during his era.
Cadel Evans, awesum.

In saying that, I was so glad that Norris bombed it last weekend - and once again am appalled at race control post-Michael Masi.
 
Yep good outcome in Brazil but for Piastri and Ferrari for me.
Yes talk about egg in face re Masi look how they have progressed over situations on the fly.

Yep, has ruined a lot of things them coming in.

Race direction is one of them (but I will fall on the hill that this is karma for the whole Michael Masi/Abu Dhabi 2021 thing).
We've had cranes on track under racing conditions, penalties not being given for things that should be slam dunk under safety conditions (Norris/Russell this weekend as the primary example), races ending under safety car (as people complained at Masi about in 2021) being ridiculed, races being stopped with a red flag to ensure racing laps at the end of a grand prix (as people complained that's how Masi should have handled Abu Dhabi 2021) being ridiculed. And of course, an incorrect starting order/removal of lapped cars on a safety car restart - exactly what he was sacrificed for doing apparently incorrectly.

Who would have guessed Alpine to finish 2nd and 3rd. Absolutely killer weekend for Williams and to a lesser extent RB and Haas. Alpine jumped from 9th to 6th. its a difference of about $30m if they hang onto that spot. Gasly's form has picked up a lot too. Though I would have laughed if Ocon got the win in Brazil. that final red flag killed his chance.

I totally agree about this season, it has been great having unexpected race results and not just Max winning every race. Though he did produce a masterclass to secure that win in Brazil and the drivers championship. 17th to 1st is insane. It was the polar opposite day for him compared to the day before in the sprint as well as quali.

I'm a bit sad that Bottas has finally lost his seat for 2025. The honorary Aussie will either have to settle for a reserve seat or move onto other motor racing opportunities. We've now go to see the final shakeup at Red Bull/RB and see where Lawson and Checo land. Could Colapinto end up with a seat?
 
Yep Brazil race was a joke - started off by rich boy son losing it at warm up lap - that started the debacle of proceedings rest of the race !
Yer imagine alpine getting those placings effecting the teams table that much !
Huge $$$’s as we know.
The cards fell perfectly for Max, don’t think he over drive it just kept it on the track better than the rest and the timing in end he was there to take it easily imo.

Yes shame for Bottas - he’s been bummed most of his career playing 2nd fiddle for Hamilton he deserved better.
Surely Checo will be dumped if he doesn’t finish strong.

totally. I could not understand Stroll beaching himself in the gravel trap. He had a whole run-off to reverse back up. All I could think of is he went this weather sucks, how fast can I get out of this and back on my private jet home. I'll let Alonso break himself in the race.

Pity the race for the drivers seems over now. I really wanted the contest with Lando and Max to go down to the wire. But the constructors is still on at least.

Correct - I was HTF did he end up in the gravel trap, he had plenty room to keep rolling back and provide enough turning room yet he beach’s himself in the trap !
Surely his dad must think you just costed a bomb after a complete rebuild and now this utterly stupid embarrassment for our team brand for all to see.
You can’t make this rich boy shit up !

As much as I find Lando turning into another whinging spoilt pom like Hamilton it would have been good seeing him keep the pressure on Max but now happy that Oscar can harder possibly allowed more rope than supporting Lando.

I do think it won't take much time now for Oscar to overtake Lando, so I really thought this might be Lando's only chance to win the drivers championship at McLaren. No way next season Oscar will be the supporting act again.

Andretti licking their lips. It's funny because this time last year if Andretti was getting on the grid for a current team you would have backed Haas to be the one to sell. Now Alpine seems the obvious choice. Choosing to downgrade your team from a works team to a customer, craziness.
