RIP Old forum

Sad to los all the history of that place.

Unfortunately it seems the Wayback machine isn't very good at showing the template for the forums.

This place has seemed pretty positive and at least it's not beholden to any company who might just decide to shut it down.

First flight to Europe I left my copy in the car. My best mate read it on the way back from the airport. Was waiting for me when I came back 12 months later.
 
What do IS even do these days? I remember they were big in the 90s and had the swimsuit models too. Just seems like a dark, weak excuse for a sports media company.

Holy crap. It’s really gone 😮 I saw the title of this thread and assumed the RIP was referencing the bot takeover, not that the entire forum and its history was purged from the internet forever ☹️

Even though we all saw this coming, it still feels very sad.

A huge thanks to you Pasquali for creating this place for us all to migrate to.

He said money needed to be done to upgrade the IS forum, which he inferred he did not want to spend, unless it generated income.

I was worried it could go any minute after I started corresponding with him. He was unwilling to talk on the phone either, but was very polite via email.

Thankfully, Pasquali has access to IP addresses, and can conform my IP address is only used as Decentric. I've publicly espoused banning multi accounts on G and G, with so many posters falsely accused of being me on 442 - a few who I know off forum.

One never knows what goes on in the non- football section of G and G, having not visited it for 5 weeks or so, but a mate of mine said I've been accused of being John Smith - who has polar opposite political views to mine!

I've found out in the last few days that I may have had bogus accounts set up masquerading as me on Twitter. I've never had a Twitter account.

Only Kevin Airs had access to IP accounts on 442. Mods couldn't see them. Thankfully, Pasquali can see duplicate accounts from the same IP addresses here.

In terms of trolls, I've used the Ignore function to avoid seeing a few troll accounts on here, who mainly play the man not the ball, and derail topics and posts.

I thought I'd seen you have been a Mod in other settings.

I've been a Mod in four different settings. None I've sought. Plus I do public moderation for public meetings.

Can't believe an experienced Mod would hold views like you do - with no evidence?

And Pasquali has confirmed I only post as Decentric.
