Email from the club today.

The club and Ruben have mutually parted ways effectively immediately.

They have reviewed the Men's program, have interviewed candidates from domestically and abroad, and will announce the replacement Men's Head Coach and technical staff in the coming days.

Sack the owners instead. Fuck me.

Reinstate the 'Official Roar circus' thread from 442. The joint is an asylum.

Not that this has anything to do with anything but you mentioning his name made me think of this. This will never not be funny.

I am actually sorry that it did not work out with Ruben.

Listening to him speak and watching him on the sidelines has shown him to be a genuine, decent person who encourages rather than abuses and went so close to pulling it off week after week without being able to get his playing squad that one 'little' step further.

I was very happy with the playing style under Ruben and how our players have developed as a team through the season. The young players who ended up on the pitch at season's end have also come on under Ruben.

Looked to be getting it together at the end, so for me I hope he gets to move on and use what he has learned.

its NEVER personal mate, nor should it be ... Managers sometimes just reach the end of their usefulness... If they cant take the squad on that next "jump" they need to move on for someone that can... its a brutal thing this game of ours.

I don't know where Brisbane goes from here. The managment team talk but don't deliver. The owners don't appear to care. Decent players will either not want to sign or leave. The coach is on a hiding to nothing. The connection to the community is screwed. Nothing will change until new owners come in, and the way things are, who would want to buy in? Thing is, Brisbane is arguably the best investment in the A League at the right price. So much potential for owners prepared to invest.

I will be eternally greatful, if it is Ufuk Talay.

I remember holger hinting there was a "young" a league player that caught his eye and might get called up after this video came out

We all started speculating who it could be only for a 27 year old zadkovic to get called up

A grade trolling

I think aaron mooy was starting to show some potential that year and was one of the players catching the eye

I think he also called a 30 year old robbie cornthwaite a "young player"

He is getting sacked right after showing some potential isnt he?

The few games before we started getting results started to look the goods as well

If they just get an academy next year i would care more....

Zadkovich has to go. The roar were utter dross all season. Zadkovich didn't come to the roar a success. He was shit at Perth too. His football was bad too..not sure where this idea that the roar were so close comes from. You don't have the season we did by being unlucky.

In saying that, the owners need to go too. I've been saying for a long time that the A-league need to step up and find a serious owner for the roar. They are just letting the club glide by without considering the impact it has on the league

We need competitive clubs everywhere, not just in NSW and Victoria.

On Zadkovich's football I disagree.

We were bad at it, but he had us playing attractive, positive football that generated chances we were unable to put away. I don't think anyone believes we were close to being winners and no-one calling on bad luck as behind our woes - but we were competitive without having the final finish and close losers in most games.

Having Abubakar come in at the end with the ability to finish off some of our chances showed what we might have been playing like if we had a resilient defence and someone like Abubakar from the start.

Ruben picked the squad to some extent, so that sits on him fair enough. Just not the dross football you saw in my eyes.

He definitely seemed to improve as the season went on

However, we don't have clear pathways to grassroots coaches. So we usually just hire former players who do the education rather than a formal talent system where people can move up the ranks

he did inherit a squad with a very poor back 4. Bility and Herrington did seem to improve, same to some degree of Burke Gilroy. I think we need to develop some good quality fullbacks and find a replacement for herrington so we are still in a vulnerable spot there....

well if there's anything positive having a - 19GD was CCM finishing higher racked up - 22 lol
j/k fellas haha
