Debut for Alana Murphy, who becomes Matildas cap number 235, replacing Mary Fowler in attacking midfield. Michelle Heyman also on for Holly McNamara.

Grant way too far away from where she should have been for that second. Left a yawning chasm and sure as eggs that's where they passed the ball.

Full time at State Farm Stadium, it ends 2-1 in favour of the USA. Matildas move to third on the ladder, level on points, for and against and goals scored with Colombia, but with superior fair play record.

They probs want van Egmond to break Polks' all-time appearances record, which she is one step closer to doing, also the experience she brings to the team helps.
I agree with you on the first point, although if it is true it is a sad indictment on the culture of the team. Can’t agree on the second point, whatever she adds in experience (and I’m stumped as to what that might be in practical terms), she detracts from tenfold with her slow movement, lack of pace, poor passing, and inability to win the ball.

Way better performance overall.

Micah did well. Grant to blame for the US's second goal. Was watching the girl in front of her to the left it instead of looking over her shoulder where the US girl waltzed through a gap you could drive a semi through. Whover was on Grant's right should have been screaming at her to come right.

Wish Fowler would show her true potential more consistently.

Muz I really admire Fowlers composure and skill but to date watching over the times she goes MIA that doesn't make sense - at times as if she's afraid being marked out.
I think she will be this type of player most of her career, just hope she puts in when it counts attack wise and delivers or assists.

I don’t know much about the USA team, but I don’t recall any names playing here from the 2023 World Cup. Looks like almost a total regeneration for them over the past 18 months.

They regenerated and won gold at the Olympics last year looking a class above everyone else. However this was an entirely different team again, I don't follow it closely enough, but was this even a 2nd 11 for the USA? Surely they haven't entirely changed their team again from the Olympics, but virtually none of the starters from the Olympics played. Their depth must be crazy.

Never believe what you read in a headline.
Definitely yet the power of certain squad members since before Staj is imbalanced. There have been times where the culture was really strong but it's very fragile too. All in all, a very strong coach is needed and a reset because I think numerous players shouldn't have automatic starts.
