Incredibly, every single edition appears to be archived

I was curious how on earth Joe Gorman got the source material for his book
remember this lying around the house back in the day.... Newsagent used to keep a copy for dad and I remember popping around to pick it up for him and getting a mixed bag of lollies with the change....

Of course it did happen at some stage but amazing to think there was a time when clubs didn't want front shirt sponsors.

17th September. 1981.

Hosie was getting chased by hostile crowds quite often.
There were referee strikes in Adelaide in the 50s and 60s, as they got sick of being screamed at and abused. Ex players and federation officials would have to step in and referee at the last minute.
The notorious player Eddie Virba was suspended sine die at least three times for attacking refs.
Those were the days!

I also liked Australian & British Soccer Weekly and used to buy that.

There was also a newer one, forget the name, had a red banner in the title of the paper is all I remember.
