The Ange at Tottenham Thread

Like Spurs even care. They've won a trophy and qualified for the Champions League. They chose their pathway once it was clear where the balance was. The finish the previous season shows it can be done in the league too. How it's time to refocus.
they couldn't even get out of their own half

they've won 1 of their last 12 Premier league games

what makes you think they're going anywhere but into relegation next season if they follow this trajectory under Ange?

where is the evidence?

Too funny making an argument against a team in 8th the other 17th.
They got a cup - as did Palace and struggled to beat a team a man down.
Seriously turn it up your trolling is pathetic in this thread.
Its very difficult to decipher your posts. I'm not sure what dialect of English you speak.
What point are you trying to make here? Are you really trying to make the excuse that its okay to lose to teams higher up the ladder?

Every trajectory on the planet you disagree with is supposed to go the other way because you say so. Why wouldn't it be the same with Ange.

They finished high the season before so with good recruiting and analysis they can go for it again. It's a dynamic game.

I'm just asking for evidence and all you can give me is speculation based on no evidence.

What players have improved? How has the football improved?

The stats today were very similar to the Europa league final, with the difference being B&H managed to finish 4 of their chances. That's what happens in a league competition, the weight of such statistics over time override the luck factor of one off matches.

Ange still has no legitimate plan B, unless you consider his recent tactic of parking the bus, playing a low block and hoping for luck on the break is evidence of sophisticated management.

Today again he was outclassed by a manager half his age and with no striker at his disposal who still managed to put 4 past Spurs and dominate all over the park.

The evidence is there from the season before. With quality depth and not having exhausted players every game, they'll be much better.

Ange has shown adaptation. Look at how much lower the possession is. Before they'd be obsessed with retaining the ball. It's not only Ange but the entire coaching staff devising a game plan. They should strengthen there too.

In the case of last game - hung over more so relaxed, their fire was out the final was end of season for them.
Seagulls are a far better team on form all season as said 8th compared to 17th.

Re Palace mention in better form all they did was park the bus most of 90 plus had the advantage playing against 10 still sat back more than anything nothing to play for they won a cup as well.

It’s not about you unable to Capish some people for you do really but gain another response replay back - that’s your game.
Capish that prob not.

they were pretty good for the first half.. must have had beers at half time.. after getting pumped 4-1 they went onto the field to parade the UEL trophy.... camera panned to Levy in the crowd he looked like Voldemort haha I have no idea which way he will go.

Feel like he needs an experienced assistant... to lean on when things aren't working. Pep does the same.

Pleeeeeaaaseee sack him so he can go join a club that actually appreciates him AND so I don't have to support the shitful spurs.

Can't wait to count the years again since the last trophy if they let him go...

Has to be Spain this time, his system would be great to watch in La Liga. Somewhere like Villarreal.

No one seems to be asking the crucial question ... except me :)

Everyone is asking the obvious question - can Ange get Spurs to play better.

But to play better, the players have to be un-injured.

Two seasons in a row, Ange has had a massive injury crisis with virtually all the 1st team out injured. And people, who don't ask questions, just say it was bad luck. Two seasons of the entire 1st team out injured is not "bad luck" -- it is bad sports science.

It takes know-how to avoid or minimise injuries.

With Ange playing high tempo high-line defence, with players constantly having to sprint back to defend (usually not successfully, given the massive number of goals leaked for the season) ... this type of frenetic-pace tactics is the cause of injuries.

And if you have the 3rd season being a repeat of the entire 1st team injured, what is going to change?

I don't think Ange will survive a 3rd season, near the relegation zone, with the entire 1st team injured ... I don't think he can use that excuse again.

In the various Tottenham podcasts and YouTube videos I see, there is a tiny minority of people who draw the link between massive injuries and Ange's tactics. It's very few people who see this, but there are some.

You wont win many games with 30% possession. That's not a tactic, that's raising the white flag. Its what you see every coach in the SPL employ when they play against Celtic.

The only team I've ever seen play with such high-tempo across all competitions in the modern era is Klopp's Liverpool. When they won the league, they were different.

It's virtually impossible to compete in UCL & The Prem playing such a ferocious brand of football. I personally think Ange has accepted that.

I don't think the "Angeball" we know of at Roar, Yokohama or Celtic scales to compete on all fronts at the highest levels of the game.

He won the Europa League playing a completely different brand of football and with that, sacrificed the league.

He won't be able to play Europa League football in the UCL next year.

A lot will come down to recruitment as well.

Matt O'Riley reminding Ange who he is with this celebration...

GrzyqDXWgAAJzhI

Ange had 200k people singing his name at a trophy parade whilst nobody has ever heard of this guy other than Celtic supporters. Can barely get a game for a tin-pot club.

I mentioned this long before re Angeball, it was not new Klopp was doing long before him BUT you need the capable players to handle it AND a bench to cover And a fitness program and physios to back the players up keeping them healthy.
We had some troubles early days but it became fruitful in the end though as mentioned, look at the squad he amassed.
Record points, still came up short twice, lost a couple of CL finals but in the end we finally nailed it !

Ange did change alot agree last third of the season but lacked players period - too many soft goals and Vicario gone for a while made it worse let alone part of the backline.
I'll take any trophy after that dross league season, better than apoke in the eye as they say !
YNWA - we da Champs signing off ;)

a tin pot club that finish 9 places higher than Spurs and beat them 4-1 last night

Didnt Spurs have the highest possesion count and shots on target stat up until around Christmas?

They've been butchered injury wise on every line. Even in the carabao cup semi they were already depleted when they beat Liverpool and then before the 2nd leg they lost Solanke and a couple of others.

If he stays on they need to sign 3-4 experienced players, they were far too young this season.

If he does go i think somewhere like Milan would be a good fit.

Would Ange consider coaching the Greek NT if the offer were there?
