The Ange at Tottenham Thread

Spurs will level out or whatever under someone else. Whether the next couple of managers can distract the fans from their massive discontent is unlikely.
level out? you mean climb up the Premier League ladder?

Yes and finish mid table without any European qualifications or trophies playing tentative football.

Ange was right to target a specific competition and won it. He's right the club won't progress by finishing anywhere else except first in the league. His title is etched into history and the majority of fans understand the strategy in the end and wouldn't have had it any other way.

Would you rather finishing 8th and not going far in a European tournament or winning it and then reassessing the league situation the next season?

Once they had their parade Spurs fans were unanimous that it was all worth it and the league can be analysed and planned again. The league is nearly a given whereas trophies and European competition isn't.

amazes me how you think you can speak for Spurs fans

I doubt any supporter of a big club would be happy about seeing their team losing week in week out during the league season.

I would be if that still brought a trophy.

In fact, I was happy when Catania in Italy last season - after realising they weren’t going to finish in the top 4ish of the league for promotion spots - focused on their cup fixtures as that would guarantee them a playoff spot equal to finishing 4th

Why would I be speaking for them when there are thousands of such comments and interviews everywhere to be seen.

in what universe is Catania a big club?

Anti-Semitism exists not because Jews don’t accept Christ/eat pork&leavened bread/leave the sausage-collar be…

…it’s because of the Daniel Levys* of the world. That’s it, that’s the proverbial tweet.

Alice pointed out the statistic that, for those games where Ange had his first team back-four all fit and playing - Pedro Porro, Romero, Van de Ven and Destiny Udogie -- with that defensive unit, his win and draw rate was matching Liverpool, putting him in Premier League winning form. Quite a stunning statistic.

Apparently the video does not play on other websites, so you can search her YouTube Channel, and find the video dated June 7, 2025 titled, "The Real Reason Tottenham SACKED Ange.. For Thomas Frank?"

so where to now for Ange? I see him as somewhere near equivalent to Russell Martin. Although the latter is much younger and has room to improve, he's still having to step down a level to find work.

I think he is unlucky, not as much because he won Europa, but more the fact that his 5th placed finish in his 1st season didnt count for much either.

That said he is in a decent position career wise. Spurs will improve ladder positions obviously but will never win anything again.
