The Australian Championship Thread

SMH football reporter Vince Rugari joined The Global Game program this evening with Simon Hill and Alex Brosque to talk both Alex Robertson and Christian Volpato as well last week’s NSD developments also prospect of football specific stadium in Brisbane ahead of 2032 Brisbane Olympics.

Neither of these *cough journalists *cough would have any knowledge of what NST clubs are up too outside of the FA announcements.

yep just talk for the sake of talk but have no idea.
Same applies re Volpato, like as if they have any genuine goss to pass on.
I admired Brosquey as a player but he's doing no diff to many ex players incl the Fox days pundits people dislike, follow your employees agendas no more no less.
Rugari, will I be smashed for using a USA election word used - vermin :)

Broque is just a player, no more no less... A little boring as a personality but hope the guy opens up a bit and has a career in football punditry.

As for Rugari, he made his own bed.... Openly despised by many because of the sheer, needless, disrespect he has shown non-franchise football in Australia...

Poor JJ can't win.. It his fault for not having an NST, and it's his fault for having an NST 😅

I suspect if the nst happens he should be labelled st james

I get the feeling the politics is very difficult

How many franchises do people think are going to apply to join the NST next year?

I can't wait for the laughs when FA delays their application until they stump up the 500K bond. hahahahahahah

It's more of a rights deal thingy.

A la Football Manager, FC25... Where it's easier to flog all of the IP out in one go.
Maybe so, but would lend them a lot more credibility it they could at least decide amongst their membership group what they want to be called and what colours they wear...

Preston advertising membership for $179 including NST games.... thats under $8 a match.... wow.

For only $179 ($149 concession) you will receive a members scarf and have access to all our home NPL, NPLW, Australia Cup (up until the Round 32) and NST games in season 2025, that’s over 25 home games in 2025 if purchased prior to December 25th, 2024.
