In all seriousness, my heart breaks for those who have left this world in the last 20 years. Coldly cut-off years ago, awaiting a return to a national competition.Ive lost all circulation in my hands from crossing my fingers for so long.......
2 decades ...... that is just sooo sad.... Can you imagine how much good could have been done in two decades? In all seriousness, my heart breaks for those who have left this world in the last 20 years. Coldly cut-off years ago, awaiting a return to a national competition.
Scary thing is, we're next!
What would've been good is when the Australia Cup began a decade ago, they should've begun planning the NST to be up and running 2-3 years later. There was a tonne of momentum at that time. Launching around 2016-17 when A-League was peaking would've been epic. Even if it were an eight team closed league (like how the A-League began) at least it's a start. I don't know how it would've handled COVID, maybe it would've been a help like it's affects on the A-League!2 decades ...... that is just sooo sad.... I don't want City leaving until they've built a damn stadium in the southeast! They were meant to be the moneybags owners.Vince rugari said on twitter it was a mistake south melbourne werent in the a league
Wonder if apl clubs will push for a few nst clubs inclusion as an alternative to an nst. There was also an a league show that called for south melbourne and sydney uniteds inclusion last week
Money, reputation, tribalism, racism / xenophobia, marketability, asset protection, business, just to name a few. I'm not surprised we aren't a part of the a-league considering what the a-league is, If south does join it will not only set a precedent of lets just 'expand' using member federation teams but also what was the point in creating new teams for the a-league if were just going to add all the old ones back... 'They' tried to to Melbourne victory in the nsl a couple(?) of times but It only worked after they got rid of all the other teams in the city. For one, how are South Melbourne not in the A Leagues? A great grand final was Ange's South Melbourne vs Melbourne Croatia (Knights) in the 80's.
Id rather south stay in the nst (if it happens) until it expands to 16 teams then gets promotedI don't want City leaving until they've built a damn stadium in the southeast! They were meant to be the moneybags owners.
David gallop was all about fishing where the fish are, but the dumb Anglo had a thing about chucking the carp backMoney, reputation, tribalism, racism / xenophobia, marketability, asset protection, business, just to name a few. yep - its totally against any NPL Clubs DNA imo.Id rather south stay in the nst (if it happens) until it expands to 16 teams then gets promoted
I'm with you alot what you've said though - don't think its afraid for many involved its about losing control it seems ???? just one of the issues I gather. What would've been good is when the Australia Cup began a decade ago, they should've begun planning the NST to be up and running 2-3 years later. Gah. I keep getting worked up about it. People are so afraid of failing that they don't even want to try.
Just a random new bloke happening across the area and have an opposing view on NST. Righto. With four-five months to go, I'm starting to think we're not going to see this happen lads.
No surprise that FA have shot themselves in the foot here.
Let's not forget that AAFC brought out that white paper back in mid-2017!!!!
How is this seven years in the making?
1991 dude....For one, how are South Melbourne not in the A Leagues? A great grand final was Ange's South Melbourne vs Melbourne Croatia (Knights) in the 80's.
Hahahahhaah hey... we're not carp .... delicious octupus maybe? hahahahahahahaha Can imagine a dumb anglo reeling in a nice plump octapus and not knowing what do do with itDavid gallop was all about fishing where the fish are, but the dumb Anglo had a thing about chucking the carp back
