Market is overcooked so happy to sit this one out. I'm a long term market watcher. I think this one has one last 2007 style run up left in it before it pops. On fundamentals we are well overs but when these things inflate, it's surprising how hard it can go before it bursts.

I'm technically in the market via stock options in my company but it's neither here nor there concerning the market because we're a startup and my strike price is set in stone. Anything else I'm not going anywhere near until it pops.
The gains and growth have felt artificial given the mood. You keep seeing stuff go up but the sentiment amongst the majority doesn't match it. Overcooked as you said. Opportunities await once there are sharp drops. See how we go. I'm in long term but wouldn't mind cashing some of the gains. Don't exactly need the cash though.

Interesting times ahead. I tried to download it to see if I could ask it about Tiananmen square but couldn't get past the sign up page.

If you're into AI have a read of this for freaky. Self replicating AI that responds and defends itself from having the plug pulled.

Haha. Just found this.

What are DeepSeek’s shortcomings?

Like all other Chinese AI models, DeepSeek self-censors on topics deemed sensitive in China. It deflects queries about the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests or geopolitically fraught questions such as the possibility of China invading Taiwan. In tests, the DeepSeek bot is capable of giving detailed responses about political figures like Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but declines to do so about Chinese President Xi Jinping.

DeepSeek’s cloud infrastructure is likely to be tested by its sudden popularity. The company briefly experienced a major outage on January 27 and will have to manage even more traffic as new and returning users pour more queries into its chatbot.

It's not just on this frontier that it's scary. That being, the speed were sleep walking into something we knew would be a problem decades ago.

In other areas, it's like we just flipped a switch to change society defining concepts and nobody seems to see the problem. Take copyrights. Theyre in the process of going extinct. Step 1: steal copyrighted work 2. "Sue me" 3. Sue who?! And that's it. Copyright no longer has any standing in the world. There goes art with it.
