The Melbourne Victory Thread

Credit where credit is due, after Kisnorbo left and Diles was promoted I thought for sure we'd miss finals. The fact that we made the GF and only lost by a goal is a very respectable effort. Although I'm not sold on Diles, I reckon he has earned the opportunity to have a crack. That being said, if we a floundering at the bottom of the table come January, then he needs to go.
I heard a wild rumour......... see Hellenic's post above

Have to say overall that I don't feel any excitement for the upcoming season. It's shaping as yet another grind for financial survival. I'm hoping for a couple of exciting young players to break through and give us all something to feel optimistic about.
Big problem is it's a transition year for the salary cap. 25/26 will have a soft cap, but 26/27 will have a hard cap with no exemptions. That will effect signings this season as any player with a contract longer than a season will effect the clubs signing capacity the following season. I doubt we will see many 'big signings' in the league this season. Will be plenty of opportunities for young players though.

My daughter had a Aus football shirt on, some Japanese bloke on the street in Tokyo stopped us and said 'Mitch Langerak just retired one hour ago' and showed us the Melbourne Victory instagram page, absolute spin out.
Not suprising at all mate ... Every single time Ive been asked where Im from overseas the follow up questions are about what I think about Kewell, Viduka, Rogic, Mooy *insert any Aussie playing int hat country.... Football is the universal language of diplomacy.... In a pub many years ago in Paris, all I had to do to get free beer was say "Bartez Merde"!!!!

This guy loved ange, muscat and knew heaps about aussie players that had played in japan. Didn't have much time for Harry K though.

Was hilarious.

Long way to go in the season though

Need to sign 5+ high level players.
The one visa-spot we have available, it’s gotta be made to count🙏🏼

Diles has boasted about having contacts at AEK Athens..well, in that case it’s time to put up or shut up methinks💡

There's so much work to do.

I'd love to get someone like Okon Jr.

Chris Donnell is a free agent.

Perhaps Cummings, Taggart or another Visa signing at 9.

We need a CB too.
