The Western United Thread

Lodged by players' union Professional Footballers Australia (PFA), the notices give United two weeks -- until June 3 -- to provide players with any outstanding payments. Should the club fail to do so, it faces possible sanctions, while players would have the right to break their contracts and sign elsewhere.
 
A takeover by the Kaminsky Family announced earlier this month was supposed to come to the club's rescue, with Mikhail Kaminsky telling ESPN that the deal -- which covered both WMG's football and property assets -- was worth "about $100 million, give or take, Aussie dollars."

However, the takeover, which is integral to United's viability, was pending regulatory approval and has yet to be completed.

I feel sorry for you guys that are connected to this through nothing but a marketing slogan and a promise of a representative club for your area "Youve gotta have a team" right? So ill try not to shit on your franchise so much anymore.. Go well, enjoy the football.

Im NOT Joey Lynch mate... just posting an article... does the truth bother you THAT much??? Im just excited that a whole bunch of players are going to be on the market before the NPL season is over....
 
There has been a lot of prehatching counting of chickens going on with the WU buyout. A casual look at the history of the proposed buyers suggests that the deal isn't done until the money appears in the relevant bank account.
The deal looks to be a some way from over the line at this point.
