Indeed. The loss of WU doesn't even affect TV content as there are still six games a week.
It does actually. If they keep the same number of rounds as last season but with 12 teams, there will be 13 fewer matches played.

Only if they shorten the season. If they stick with 26 games played per team its less games. If they stick to 29 rounds its more games.

Nah mate.

Last season 13 clubs played 26 times. (13 x 26)/2 = 169 matches
If we have 12 clubs this season playing 26 times: (12 x 26)/2 = 156 matches

Number of rounds doesn't matter because they include byes. It's how many actual matches are played that changes.

I feel for these guys, they were just trying to make a career for themselves and got hoodwinked ... At least they are brave enough to admit it, and have the grace to be as non biased as their contractual obligations allow them...

Good value and their advice to WU fans to now go support NPL rather than a rival Aleague team is well meaning....

Something about these guys anooy me but I enjoy the podcast. We aren't journos yeah they aren't journos but they are still reporting about that happenings so they can get some criticism if they deserve it

Matey, WU paid them to do a puff piece on their club, and thats what they are trying to do with the Championship moving forward. THAT IS journalism in this country now.....

So what's the deal with WU in VPL 1 - critical time. If they get booted 3 teams could come into the 6 after this weekend.

Hypothetical question.
In an alternative reality let's say the licence was awarded to Sth Melbourne or Team 11. Although many of WU's issues are there own doing, many are not. Eg, APL pissing away money on Keepup. AL grant money being reduced by 75%. Then there is the whole covid shitshow. Just to name a few.
How do Sth Melb and Team 11 navigate these same issues? For the purposes of the exercise, let's say Team 11 also receives the Gov funded stadium.

No need for a hypothetical scenario for SMFC mate, this is pretty much a carbon copy of what DID happen to us in 2004... 21 yeas later we just won Dockerty Cup, are AGAIN in the final 16 of the Australia Cup, looking forward to the NSD and generally, still alive and kicking ... THATS how we navigated it, lets see how much of WU survives the plunge?

It's 'cos the fat one gives off old-skool muzza vibes, innit;)

Seriously though, I can see what you mean but what matters is that these guys aren't engagement-farming grifters like the vast bulk of their contemporaries; they're actually speaking truth-to-power re. the issues plaguing the game here✊🏼
