7th place is only 4 points off 1st place
So the top six is a bottle neck but you got these teams that have played a different amount of games.

Newcastle, Brisbane and Perth you're assuming most games they will lose

The bye round doesn't help.

What gets me is that some teams have played two games less than the ones with the most. There re 3 teams that have played 13 games, 5 teams that have played 11 and 5 teams on 12 games. Then giving the mix up (some round 17 games being played in round 13) makes it even more complicated to look at the table. I am not liking this years format.

This is what a normal football season looks like. Add in postponed games due to weather and cup competitions and you get the feel of what the Europeans have each and every year. We're bought up on NRL and AFL where there are no interruptions and no Cups and the draw is very simple. I remember the furore when the NRL spread a round over two weeks due to the State of Origin in the middle. Back in the 70's Leeds were leading the First division by 2 points but Man United had 2 games in hand, do had lost fewer points. They lost both catch up games (which they should have won), so Leeds won the title. It's exciting to see your team chase the top etc.

Yeah the table positions are not really an accurate representation at the moment.
In the latest round thread, I've included the PPG (point per game) column. https://greenandgoldfc.com/threads/a-league-mens-24-25-round-14-part-1.340/
This helps us compare teams a little better.
For example: Both Adelaide and Auckland have better PPG than MC.
Sydney have better PPG than both Macarthur and WU.
Nix have better PPG than CCM.

Thanks for that.
Basically the top three are settled but not in the correct order and the last three + MVC are in the correct spots. The other six should eventually be settled.

so so true of way way back then H55, we went through then BUT the grounds/drainage etc have improved 1000% where there is hardly any games postponed compared to the past.
Heck only weeks back was the first time I can recall in a decade or so the Mercyside derby was postponed in the morning prior to afternoon koff.
Its not normal anymore in a proper comp having make up games much - some Cup games yes due to scheduling congestion - just saying.
Byes are not the norm unless I'm utterly mistaken.

Sort of, but not really. If AU and ACK both lose their next game MC is still on top.
All teams have played at least 11 games. This is what the table would have looked after round 11 had the games been played in a typically order.
