Unite Round

Thankfully the last year of the NSW deal. Let's not do this again.

If Unite Round was to stay, I hope it’s played elsewhere next year.

I think Hindmarsh would be a great venue and provide a more intimate atmosphere for fans. They would also provide a better quality pitch. The Allianz pitch looked like it had been rained on for a week.

But I am assuming the APL will just whore it out to the highest bidder.

so sydney FC & WSW have played each other twice in 5 rounds, only to draw a larger crowd for this "unite" round.

Pathetic lol

You'll get way less crowds because only Adelaide benefits. Having it in Sydney makes sense because five teams can drive there

Not having it at all makes even more sense.
hehe good one.

To FTB comment intimacy, well Gosford ticks that, hour north of Sydney, hotels no prob/beach hostels, bogan plus, train/drive/newy airport or get back to Syd.
Drives from Sydney to Gosford could be like Mad max to Thunder dome, RBB obviously the fellas in mass leading the pack https://www.etsy.com/au/market/leather_bondage_mask
Unite for we need a crowd

Dump this concept. Who do people think we are? AFL, NRL. Bye bye don't come back.
It "works" in NRL and AFL their fans are actual willing to sit in a stadium and watch any match regardless of who is playing... look at the AFL GFs during covid for example.... packed out in Brisbane and Perth by people who probably have never watched another game since then.... and NRL, you just have to see how packed out it get for state of origin down here to scratch your head....

We need to merge a league and npl then she'll be right
Matey, IF and its a massive IF still, promotion and relegation ever happens at a national scale in Australian football the Aleague and APL will NOT be a part of it in any way shape or form - some A league clubs may engage if they decide to drop out of the franchise system .. but the APL will not dilute their value for anyone, not me , not you, not the tens of people at unite round...

.. as we speak they are trying to convince destinations NSW that 35 thousand Sydney residents that attended 12 matches over the weekend were in fact spread out over ALL the matches and all flew in from somewhere, spent money for accommodation and the whole exercise was a massive success....

I do agree with you the owners of the clubs don't care about the fans

It's nearly as bizarre as playing a Perth home game 4000km away in Sydney.
Good chance of it having both the lowest crowd and lowest streaming numbers for the season.
This. Not only are we robbed of a home game but they make it impossible for most to watch. Unite my arse.

No vote from me if this is the best they can do.

I have a feeling that the crowd was boosted by the previous attendees a bit. Saw some Adelaide fans running around ( weird heads though ) .

To be fair it did look like a large crowd.

We are an event city and the SOO is a big event. I'll allow it. AFL should have never scraped their SOO series. Would have been huge.
