What football podcasts/shows do you usually watch?

What do you mean by that?

Youngsters pretending they’re part of BBB, yet nobody in BBB knowing who they are nor having stepped a foot in Zagreb.

Not just a league supporters who are guilty of cringiness

Oh yeah 100%.
They all wank over the overseas Ultras Torcida or BBB then act like tourists when they get to Croatia, that's the younger generations.

All the boys over 30+ actually have friendships and connections to some of these groups overseas, they just don't talk about it.

Active was good ten years ago when it was a bit of banter and chanting about the players everything else is cringe

I can across a really good one on YouTube from last year. Joey Barton talking to Mark Viduka for a good two hours. Covered everything from the AIS, NSL, his transfer overseas etc.

what struck me from that is that the ais meant that from age 16-18 players were getting 2 training sessions a day plus a gym session and advice on football specific gym advice

wish we had that at every club to accelerate their match readiness

I only got to see the last year of the AIS in action - but gees they were delightful to watch.

I've heard 2 competing stories about its decline

1) they had to decline because government wanted to cut them since the olyroos didn't qualify for 2 olympics in a row and they tried to save face by saying they wanted to shut down anyway
2) they shut down because lowy pushed for funding to be redirected into academies

anyone know which one is the truth or if its some combination of the 2?

It's probably a combination of the 2 - but knowing how ASC funding works, I think it's the former more than the latter.
