During my lunch break I thought about how each club could improve by bringing in one additional player into the starting line up. What key position would improve the club. The following table shows the club name, the latest starting formation and the position player I think would improve the club's performance:

Newcastle are not scoring enough and allowing too many goals through. So I was not sure whether a defender would improve the club more than a forward or vice versa. Melbourne City relies too much on Souprayen who is ageing a lot so a CB would be ideal for this issue but at the other end, neither Memehti nor Souleimani nor Durakovic are actually scoring; and certainly with Caputo out injured the #9 role is just not being filled adequately. And for Brisbane Roar I broke the rules as Zadkovic is not a player but every week that passes I become convinced that he is the #1 problem on the field, otherwise with Tom Waddingham heading to the UK, they will need a striker.

Thoughts?

A right-back for Victory. Could do with another versatile defender too.

With Geria departing, I can see why you mentioned the right-back position but even if MVC did get one, I can't see them finishing off games. Instead a versatile defender with a big engine would do the trick of stopping the counter attacks.

Adelaide need to move on midfielders, we have too many. A CB or and a backup striker (Luka and Archie will miss games due to youth international callups) are what we need.
