Wyndham City Stadium Thread

Not really that surprising.... Whats surprising is that it took 6 years.
Chris Pehlivanis has jumped ship from the NPL for overseas.

My outrageous suggestion is that, as Pehlivanis was fully immersed at that entity until about 18 months ago, he does not want to linger in this country when it all goes to crap, and he is somehow seen as one of the fraudsters! Hee hee

A friend of a friend of a friend suggests that certain "old boy Greek network" type people are chasing money from certain individuals at WMG and this is about to get a little ugly... Feel sad for the fans who got taken along for the ride... Oh well they can all go back to their original franchsies again, no harm I suppose..

I'm predicting a press release in the future that goes something along these lines.
Bad news, we regret to inform everyone that Western United FC will be shut down effective immediately and the A-League licence to be handed back.
Good news, the commercial and residential development projects will be going ahead bigger and better than before as we no longer need to build a stadium.

I have mentioned this before .... but this is like the history of the Pacific Electric Rail System in Los Angeles.

They built this 'magnificent' system in the early 20th century, only for it to fall into slow disrepair and eventually abandoned by 1961.

Why? Because it was built by land speculators (NOT govt), whose primary interest was the land they owned, that shot up in value along the lines they built.

Once they built those lines, they stopped investing in them. Those train lines always made a loss, so they did not care about the system.
