$15 is Stan Sport alone - you can subscibe for that only but yer, most people would have Basic or Standard or Pre.
Say you have Premium +SS thats $35 a/m.
According to their website the cost of a sports subscription is $15 per month on top of a basic package of $12 per month, so a total cost of $27 . That’s before they bump up the price for watching the EPL.

Would appreciate any observations as to what or how Stan package and price these additions. Surely some early bird offer or maybe they jack it up for all? Imagine you have Stan already and EPL just gets thrown in for no extra charge.
Can anyone comment on the prices pubs and clubs are charged for pay TV sport? German sky have decimated the pub experience with very few bars forking out anymore. Australia is comparatively mental.

Yep, so essentially for Champions League + Premier League, anyone coming over will need to pay $27 a month minimum. (Edited since I just realised the table was out of alignment)

@JS96 - The only other sports streamer in Australia I can think of is Kayo (which is just Foxtel anyways) - I'm paying $40 a month so that I can get my vroom vrooms, my brother in law can get his NRL (and then we utilise a great method of multiple account sharing for all our streaming platforms).

Their announcement is about EPL and FA Cup but as many have asked, Euro qualifiers/ Nations League (please don't respond with who cares). Add DFB Pokal, J League and WSL.

Was La Liga shown? Their podcast always had a segment.

I actually went off their podcast as they had the French pundit on for EPL. Knowledable but a French accent blaring through my home while cooking got annoying. Phil Kitromilides was enjoyable but I felt a bit too much hyperbole started to sneak in. Schwarzer will hopefully get another.
Optus also have NWSL rights which will be transferred to Nine and Stan come 1st August along with all the other rights they hold including Premier League, FA Cup and J League.

Not a fan of losing Optus. We will end up paying more to watch football, and having to deal with Bozza and crew harping on. I see this as a regression, but know I'm in the minority.

Everyone loves to hate on Optus. The hate is also on things that other companies do as well, which is weird to hate one, not the other.

yep I'm just a little more for FOX,FoxGO, 2/4wheel vrooms vrooms - GOLF, so for me must viewing amongst other sports in general (variety that I like).
Have Optus Sport/Stan
P+ - a utter waste TBH even though not expensive.
There is NO doubt Stan will increase its pricing having EPL.

JS I'm led to believe in EU it is far more expensive than what we pay, my Italian friends say its OTT there for SerieA for eg.

I'm with you re Optus, been great for me I agree didn't get the dislike towards it, prob because they have to pay more who knows.
One guy carried on about its picture quality that I found strange, never had a prob.
The only difference I can tell at times is the quality of the TV pixels, IF you have a good TV its as clear as seeing the blades of grass.

What I copy pasted in my previous post was from their website libelous.

Yeah. I never had an issue with the price and you were not forced to bundle services. Yes you got a discount if you did, but all telco companies do that. Stan essentially force you to bundle, and get away with it.

As for the picture quality, I never had an issue. People complained of buffering but it never bothered me and I have 25nbn speed, so am at the lower end.

Dazn buying Foxtel makes for interesting shifts too. Something about Fox and 7 being weak or unable to capitalise on AFL.

Optus Sports has been great but times move on. I subscribe to both Optus Sports and Stan Sports during the season so it will be good to have them together. Hopefully this won't lead to a price increase for Stan Sports.

If you are with Optus, looks like you can get Stan Premium and Sport for $9.99/month from 1 August until 8 January via SubHub. After 8 Jan, looks like you can still access the Prem League, but lose the entertainment package and any of the other sport such as the Rugby, Tennis and Champs League.

So from January, you'll be forced to pay way more if you want all of it.

Good riddance to Optus. Cheap and nasty. Couldn’t be happier that it’s moving to Stan.
I'll never get this hate. Aussie fans don't actually realise how bad things were before Optus Sport. Some of the conversations from Fox exec were ringing alarm bells for just how people view football fans. There was a time where not a single company wanted anything to do with football and were offering peanuts for it. Optus actually saved EPL rights at the time. The service was not always the best, and they had some teething issues during that world cup, but I'd much rather that and in the hands of people who care about the game, than people who view the fan as a means to just make money.

People are getting excited to have EPL and Champs league in one place, but after Jan, you have to pay for Champs League seperate, and EPL seperate.

The EPL rights were never in doubt. Optus beat Fox Sports in a blind auction.

Optus in my opinion had a horrible start and a horrible end. There were a few years in between where it was passable. When they had Champions League, La Liga etc it was a decent service. They were obviously bleeding money because they ran the service down to pretty much nothing by the end.

Things I hated:
- Getting rid of linear channels
- Poor bit rates for live games. I think it was 1080p a few years ago and they slowly downgraded it.
- Replaced linear channels and ability to record with absolutely disgraceful 720p (at best) replays at a joke 25 FPS. Save $ on bandwidth and also ability to make you sit through 3-4 minutes of hungry jacks ads.
- Unskippable ads on 5 minute videos.
- Could only register 5 devices on each account.
- Got rid of La Liga, didn’t even make an announcement. Replaced it with some low level women’s league and then increased the price.

I won’t even mention how they completely botched the World Cup coverage. Gave everyone a Fetch TV as compensation and then ditched Fetch TV.

Optus can now concentrate on selling their poor Mobile Phone service.

I never said they were in doubt, I said that Aus companies never valued it. Fox were only offering 20m for the rights. Way less than what they were worth, and were also giving substandard service along with it. When this all happened, I worked in the industry. I was privy to conversations on how little Fox and Aus tv channels didn't care for football at the time.

- Never noticed a drop in quality of the steam. Was always clear for me
- unskippable ads on just about every service these days, but only Optus takes flack for it. Heck, some services are charging and having ads, yet Optus is the bad guy. Even then, the ads were for like a minute
- how many devices do you need to watch a game?
- la liga was not getting viewer numbers. Women's football was kicking off and has a bigger potential market in Australia. With Matilda's all playing overseas now, there's a bigger market to cater to

Yes, the world cup was botched initially, but they fixed their shit straight after, no one ever acknowledges that.

The last line is clear that it's just an Optus hate thing. I'm no fan of Optus as a whole, but the hate they get for Optus Sport is completely unwarranted. When everyone has to pay $40 to watch EPL and champs league, I look forward to the complaints.
