The Middle East tends not to subscribe to the Western idea of democracy. Doesn't help when the 'west' collectively backs those dictators and pyschopaths when it's in its best interest.

Yeah, someone has obviously wanted this to happen for some reason (could be ten answers to this right now besides the obvious), and the problem will end up worse for everyone until they have to go through it all over again in ten years from now. Rinse repeat middle east.

TBH it's like if Putin was to ever go, it's not like some freedom-loving democracy idealist would replace him. Would most likely be an even be a bigger numbnuts
