Not having a go at you here but are there right-leaning satire equivalents if the Chaser, Onion, Beetoota are 'left' like you say?

I often think Rowan Dean and Rita whatever her name is on sky are undercover comedians. Surely nobody is that stupid.

It's ok. But it's not especially provocative either. Using the word cunt in satire lost its shock value years ago.

South Park (especially during its peak) is a much better example of satire that's daring and provocative. That episode where Randy gets the answer wrong on wheel of fortune was amazing.

Why should satire "lean" either way?

And even if somebody does have a particular leaning, there's a difference between being partisan and being limp and "safe". Bill Maher is a great example of somebody who is shamelessly partisan, but at the same time he's willing to say things that are provocative to a lot of people who share his worldview. While I disagree with many things he says and he has a tendency to be smug and argue in bad faith, I can still enjoy listening to him and genuinely having a laugh.

But when somebody tries to pass themselves off as irreverent, daring satire on one hand but then tip-toe around any of the sacred cows that might actually rustle the jimmies of the '"in-group" it just comes across as bland and weak. It's as daring as the P&C approved graffiti on the school basketball courts.

yer I agree tsf, I stopped the vid once I heard a minute max of that Jarret, at the sametime there is debate to question considering been found not guilty the type of behaviour is now acceptable no matter what colour you are go for your life for you can get away with it.
Seriously do any of us bring up our kids saying this behaviour is acceptable ?
I sure haven't brought up mine to behave as such, infact STFU, be respectful and IF you've done wrong own it, be honest.
She is becoming a parent as we know, wonder if any boundaries will be taught what is right and wrong.
Anyway, I posted many times her bahaviour isn't acceptable being a NT captain and role model - thats my opinion.

I have NO care she's female, that the Matilda's are our pin up NT, infact thats great imo for the game for the other codes can't compare, I believe in showing respect especially in her position.
Just watching her again in the cop shop absorbed in her mobile at the same time speaking as such is another trait of people today lacking respect.
Anyway I'm done, I wish her well and get back on the field and do damn well, especially for the Matildas and be a leader as such there but I have no respect for her and have no care whats to become - if people think her behaviour is excuseable go for your lives and your kids.

So how is the general relationship with Sam Kerr & the football public looking now I havn't followed to closely. Can things get back to normal ? In terms of footballing aesthetics she's a genius imo. This is all quite regretable & unfortunate, are people willing to move on?

I basically said on twitter that she shouldn't have been found guilty however she should have considered given her position and status, that her actions would be broadcasted. They were, she's reaped what she sowed, and we should all move tf on.
 
Hopefully she'll resign the captaincy with some corporate speak bullshit like 'so I can concentrate on my recovery' or something similar to avoid ongoing drama.
