Channel 7 criticising their own pay master? That will never happen lol.

It shows the poor double standards the media has to everyday citizens and why it’s getting harder to trust them for most news stories.


That fact that the AFL and NRL and a small extent cricket are owned by these big media corporations shows how challenging it is for football, our infighting is nothing compared to the challenges we have with the media and the authority who are working together to protect their own status quo in the sporting hierarchy.

It’s due to this as much as anything that I’ve come to believe the best way forward for 🇦🇺⚽️ is to just forget about ‘appealing to the mainstream’ once&for all. We’ve had 20 years of that with, ultimately, quite little to show for it..so wouldn’t the logical/prudent thing to do be to just concentrate on our own instead❓💡

absolutely need to start appealing to football fans and not AFL/NRL fans

Someone should send this thread link to the APL and the FA so they can wheel it out any time there's a negative story in the media about football.

Predicting 20 pages here by the end of the AFL and NRL season.

The thing is muz this is stupid violence and so is the incidents that happen in the AFL but football as much as I love it has a problem with the 100s and sometimes thousands of ultras that cause problems in large groups.

These incidents are isolated the football fans attacking opposition in pubs etc is more coordinated

These are NOT isolated incidents. They are just NOT reported.

I saw the heading and then read your comment that it was on page 6. For a split second my brain couldn't comprehend how the papers didn't go to town on us...

Then I saw it was rugby. I'm surprised they even put it in the paper.
