Hi all!
So our generous benefactor Pasquali has dropped out, so we need to do a financial plan and so we can chat the budget here.
So to do 2 episodes a month we need 140 AUD and 210 for 3 episodes a month. It is hard to do 3 episodes without diluting the quality, but if there is demand we can certainly have some episodes with a more chatty vibe like roundball do. I can probably cover around 40, leaving 100 left if we do 2 episodes or 170 if we do 3. I am looking for feedback and expressions of interest to try and figure out a budget. From may next year I can up my contribution
I am thinking of 3 patreon levels. Feel free to suggest different prices
1) $5 a month access to bonus content - we try and make 20 minutes of bonus content with each episode
2) $10 a month where you get to ask a question/make a statement of our hosts or guests. Questions of course moderated for personal attacks, bigotry etc (basically same rules as the forum. You can't have me read out a statement saying the guest or someone on the forum is a wanker or say something racist)
3) $15 a month for those just feeling generous
On top of that, if anyone has a business we can advertise it for $10 a month in sponsorship (up to 3 businesses). Given a business sponsorship probably needs to know the numbers, I should probably give a rough appraisal of where we are currently and where we could be realistically. At the moment across different platforms a typical episode is probably a bit under 150ish combined after a month (we don't have data for a year, for obvious reasons) with top episodes getting 250ish. We have round ball's video from when they started 12 months ago, it is hard to compare. Our youtube views are roughly 1/4-1/3rd of total our listeners with the sole exception of the episode where we recorded video, in which case the youtube version is 2/3rds our total audience. All that is to say that roundball started off a fair bit worse than us, but 12 months later, their episodes are getting 300-3k https://www.youtube.com/@RoundBallAus/videos. Since they are a video channel I would guess that their total reach across platforms are 500-5k per episode. So 12 months of consistency and numbers like that are probably realistic for us.
If these numbers are too low or too high, or if you have different ideas for patreon levels let us know below and also let us know if you would be interested in joining patreon, sponsorship so we can budget
