Expansion Thread

these two expansions are really struggling aren't they

Gallop with his club identity policy salting the earth of those excluded from the a league, war with active support and his poor choices for expansion....if he was a mole from another code would he act any different?

A mole wouldn't be so obvious.... surely 🙃

In every role he has had, in whatever code, he has done the same. The conspiracy theory has to be whether all code boards are really that stupid?

Rocky times ahead for the A League. Legal action with major ramifications, if successful, with the Bulls; and the hardly surprising and very real possibility of the plug being pulled on Western United.

They were poor decisions from the outset.

If those two teams go it won't be the worst thing. Just bring in two proper teams that can be successful right...

at least when suing the fa you are suing a less cash strapped organization than the apl
No wonder the FA divested themselves of the A League. Who wants to be on the hook for these idiots?

What a mess...

Spelling out a purported conversation, the owners allege Macarthur owner Sam Krslovic received confirmation of the higher payment during a December 2018 meeting with FA.

"Just to confirm we'll get the distribution of $3.2 million per season as is related directly to our licence fee of around $12 million," Krslovic said.

“Yes, you’ll receive the distribution of $3.2 million," the FA in-house legal counsel allegedly replied

Conversation? Get it down in writing Sam.

Considering Macarthur weren't even able to sack a coach without losing a legal battle and receiving a signing ban tells me the Macarthur legal team are about as sharp as a handful of hand cream. My bet is this case has zero legs. Lawyers will be the winners here.

Imagine if the two new teams were Sydney Utd and South Melbourne.

You would think that the Bulls would be a success as SW Sydney is a multi ethnic area but for some reason they don't attract much support and their off field wrangles such as the Dwight Yorke fiasco and their forthcoming legal battle with the A-league don't help.

WU though playing some good football also do not have a big fan base and the continual hassle about their promised stadium does not augur well for their longevity.

Imagine SU being admitted to the A-league .The anti football press would have a field day playing up their alleged Ustasha/Nazi links.

TBH IMO any NPL club would be utterly stupid going there - like a square peg going into a round hole.

Look western united are one thing but MacArthur haven't even tried off field scandal after another they charge away fans overpriced tickets and alienate their active. From what I've heard they haven't even tried to get fans in the community

The Campbelltown area for me has always been a soulless area. I've always just felt a negative vibe from the area. It's the only area of Sydney for me that doesn't have a clear identity.

The Bulls stadium is a joke. Who wants to watch football with vacant farmland behind both ends? If it's the Faroe islands maybe I could excuse it. Looks sub standard

Think your on the money there.
Such a large catchment but been no man’s land forever.
Kind of sandwiched between the large Shire and west to Penrith comps bordered back down Liverpool road to inner west.

Eeeee error well at one point when I joined the ole 442 forum wanderers was smashing gws, victory was doing quite well at marvel and ratings were quite decent. We were fighting with AFL and Nrl but it's a long time ago. These two teams and a lot of bad decisions have lead us to where we are now
