A-League Mens 24/25 - Semi Final

Good for the 3k city fans then 👍
I've seen Melb City play a lot of good football this season. They deserve bigger crowds!

Pleased to see Schreiber get a good run!

I'm also pleased for Aurelio Vidmar. He got AU to and Asian Champ League final. I love the passing game MC play, which he has coached well.

Auckland by far have the strongest team/squad.

From my understanding they have been allowed to spend a bit extra aboive the cap to be competitive in the first season.

Credit to the owner for actually spending cash, but it seems a bit unfair?

Auckland looked significantly better than Victory and I assume Victory would be close to expending the full cap?
Missed the last 20 mins, but I thought MV were decidedly better as a team unit on the ball.

It was often in MV Defensive Transitions, where they were not able to organise quickly enough when the they lost the ball in their DTs with MV players committed forwards, and AC's Attacking Transitions.

I take my hat off to AC though as they were able concentrate for such long periods without the ball, and maintain team defensive shape.

We need to be more direct and quick with our decision making. Face forward. I think too many trying for the extra touch or perfect chance. That goes from midfield forward but particularly the front 4. Velupillay and Arzani tried too much.
It didn't help that AC played a deep defensive line too. Credit to AC for sustained periods of holding team shape in Ball Possession Opposition though.

Melb Vic committing players forward, and dominating possession and territory played a higher defensive line well out from goal, which AC were able to exploit in their accelerated attacks.

Both Melb City and Western played some lovely football in the semi.

Just can't work out why so few Geelong residents are supporting their team?

There are many good young players in both teams.
Tarneit isn’t really near Geelong, so they‘d have quite a long drive.

No offence intended and sorry to say but Western utd not actually playing in the west and Heart based out of the same stadium when most already supported Victory, then the name change have been a detriment to the integrity of supporting the league.

Who the fuck, are AC ?

Auckland City.

Should I have called them Auckland FC?
Yes. Auckland City is a completely different entity that plays is the local NZ league. They are the Oceania qualifier for the FIFA Club World Cup that starts next month.

I read a News Limited (I know, I know) article a couple of days ago where the author completely misunderstood that there were two different clubs. She went on about how Auckland the A League club (Auckland FC) would be competing in the club world cup.

Yeah anges old team is playing tomorrow in a semi
HAHAHAAHAHA I forgot about his brief time with the Scottish team in Melbourne... hahahaha

I reckon Ange probably has forgotten them too and will be watching the Blues tomorrow night
