Burgess was generally lauded by Ipswich fans during the season but there were some really harsh and delusional sentiment too. Now that he's left they're all full of praise. Swansea fans are trying to grasp how the club suddenly has ambition.

I think Burgess had a really underrated season. When called upon he did well, a few mistakes here and there but very decent. A highlight for him must be the win against Spurs.

I think KBos' intensity is fine. But he needs to bulk up or improve his balance because he gets pushed off the ball rather easily. Also some of his decision making can be really poor but that will need to be coached out of him.

Physically the 46 game season, plus cup matches, is probably the most brutal in Europe? It does provide a lot of opportunity to play.

I can't decide which is better for development. I reckon he'd have no problem in Austria. Championship the better league but a big step up. If he could have a season similar to Bennies that would be good.

If you play all 46 games i think you go backwards on the championship

Most roos who had seasons like that went backwards imo

Its just too many games.

But i think the other side of that is it is a great place to develop if you arent playing every minute you can develop quickly

Impact sub may not be the worst to aim for. Would be handy for the NT.

Do we think if he starts and scores 10 goals and he probably goes to a world cup? He is already 30, hopefully he has a few more years playing at the same quality as last season and it wasn't a one off peak.

Santa Clara appear to have been generally been a top half finishing team. So up a division and to a bigger club. Another guy making a big jump.

Yeah definitely should start if he is a regular in portrugal

Waddingham could challenge him mind u if he is a regular for pompey and improves quickly enough

Interesting post. As a Socceroo Burgess seems to have improved quite a lot in a short time for an older player.
