New Socceroos naming rights sponsor

Football Australia has confirmed that CommBank will become the FIFA World Cup-bound Socceroos’ new naming rights sponsor as part of the financial institution’s growing investment in the sport.

Already the main backer of the Matildas, CommBank will take over from Subway as the Socceroos’ major sponsor in September.

It’s part of a new six-year deal, reportedly worth between $10m and $15m each year, that will result in the bank becoming FA’s major sponsor at all levels.
nice how much was subway worth for comparison?

The Socceroos have secured their biggest sponsorship deal, with American-owned fast food company Subway to become the national team’s naming rights sponsor as part of an overall three-year contract with Football Australia reportedly worth more than $10 million.

FA must be laughing all the way to the bank!!! $10 -15m a year is great, now only if the APL can get there shit together.
Just what is the current relationship between FA and APL? I know that Conroy is chairman of both (?). Has FA taken over APL?

I dont think the FA have taken over the APL, just going by what we know is speculation with next season having a strick $3m cap for all clubs going forward this is obverse that they have failed at getting a better TV deal for next year. Ever since the ALM started the salary cap has never been over $3m for the clubs so it shows they have failed time and time again. For 20 years nothing has changed financially - imagen if that was the NRL or AFL?.

I think JJ reported this was a big deal in the happening and rightly so.
Correct as someone mentioned hope they make good use of it.

* edit - sponsers expect to see proactive business done with their handouts so do the job FA.

No FA is not running apl whatsoever.

“According to industry sources, the sponsorship is worth just under $12 million in total, making it the largest ever national-team deal in Australian football history, even outstripping the Matildas’ lucrative contract with CommBank signed last year.”

Fresh deal: Socceroos ink record-breaking sponsorship deal

wow its socceroos only!

You would imagine matildas are going up in price too

Maybe with the extra funding now the FA can get the Socceroo's some good friendly matches at home!. Sure i wanna see us play NZ again pre world cup but games against Uruguay or Brazil would be awesome in Australia. I get it has to be financial viable opponents to sell tickets but when was the last time the Socceroo's played a decent friendly in Australia?

Not just Socceroos, CommBank now have the naming rights for all men's age grade sides, the Emerging Matildas Championships and Emerging Socceroos Championships, in addition to 'official bank' status.
so everything but the tillies?

How much is there sponsorship and when does that get renewed?

Commonwealth Bank signs historic $60 million deal backing Football Australia

Extension of the Matildas and Pararoos sponsorship seems to be part of the deal.

ah so tillies included, so probably not a huge jump then

Subway was $12m for 3 years =$4m per year. Subway was apparently more than Matildas original Commbank sponsorship - guessing $3-3.5m per year. A reasonable upgrade to $10-15m per year.
