Woods pretty good in NSW U19s, team lacked combinations.

Dogs prop Smith very impressive for QLD.

Wow Latu is at the club, Gus is a genius.

Will not be an immediate selection like Galvin, but probably would have made his NRL debut by now if he was staying at the Dragons.

Best thing about it is Flanno is pissed off about him leaving, surprised that the Dragons seem to have let him go without a swap.

Might debut for us and forcing his way into the top 17 can't be ruled out.

Overall, I can understand why we let Morrin go.

I am glad that the experts don't see us as genuine premiership contenders.

We have the squad depth, we just need to build our game.

The bunker is there to assist the ref and clarify any challenges. It is not their job to ignore the question asked and make a decision on an unrelated incident. In the game tonight there was a challenge of a knock on against faiders but the bunker ignored the knock on and confirmed the challenge because the tigers player was offside. The challengehad nothing to do with offside so why was it mentioned? The bunker is ruining the game.

I agree that the Tigers coped one or two questionable calls.

But the Tigers did a lot of dumb stuff in the first half and missed far too many tackles.

I like young Mason, but he isn't ready for regular starts in the NRL.

Latu is classy, they need to start him and perhaps have Mason on the bench.

I don’t think that the Tigers are far off winning a few games.

Skelton knock on in goal for a Raiders try, and dumb hair pull penalty, which was another 50/50.

Has odd great play in him, and makes plenty of metres, but teams have worked him out and some of the errors really count.

The only player that I regret losing is in recent years is Averillo.

Thompson, and others joining the club next season. Galvin and Latu already here, best recruitment since 2011.

hd, what has happened to the BDP? I see you are here frequently and dman, zoz, micko, marki and myself all ported across but that's it. I wonder what became of the rest of the crew? Oh well, their loss.

ODF it is an exciting and interesting time to be a Dogs fan reminds me a bit of the late 1970s, we are building the right way.

I also don't mind other clubs having success if they play good footy and have earned it. Warriors, Fins and Raiders in that category. Panthers also especially if they make it to the semis.

I am seeing some good signs at the Tigers and I have more respect for the Roosters than I have most seasons.

If we can't win it, I hope that the Warriors or Fins win it, next choice Raiders, followed by Panthers.

I don't want the Storm to win.

The style of footy and reward for effort is pretty good this season in spite of refs blowing too many penalties and getting too many decisions wrong.

This site comes up in a Google search, I hope that we get a few more posters. I'm happy to inflict my lame opinions on people, but perhaps that is the problem:)

Nah mate, not lame. You express your opinion and like everyone elses we agree or disagree, that's the beauty of a debate page. Keep up the good work.
On the subject of refs, I just don't understand why they are so poor in their officiating, like these are seasoned officials and yet so inconsistant with their decisions. And don't get me started on that waste of space "the bunker".......

Latu has a back injury coming to the Dogs early to finish his rehab here.

So if he plays any NRL for us this season that is a bonus.

Next 2 weeks Panthers and Broncos a big challenge.

2 wins will more or less lock in a top 2 finish.

Good challenges, both games look like we will really need to play well for 80 mins to win.

We haven't put together a quality 80 minute performance with our best 17 all season, this would be a great time to do it.

Will be a great test this Thursday . Panthers will be up for it as they always do against us . Hopefully we can blow them out the park .i think we are a different team now with Galvin and Sexton has found good form . Cirro may keep the rotation of Mahoney and Galvin . I reckon it can work .
The attack direction will change and some sides may not adapt to it . But will see what happens . This week a win is needed as we will be without the Origin players against the Gronks .

I can see Marhoney, Sexton and Mann starting with Hayward and Galvin on the bench.

Probably DSF and King starting with Curran and Hayes on the bench. Curran and Hayes can play big minutes, Mann might need to play some footy at prop, but he has done that before.

I don’t know how Hughes is tracking.

Cirro wants to maintain our defensive standards that probably keeps Marhoney in the side. Otherwise Hayward starting at hooker and Hughes on the bench is a possibility.

Cirro seems to like a small bench, I like more size. Hughes may be better in attack, but Marhoney is better in defence.

Cirro will want our defence to be good.

I sometimes understand and agree with what Cirro is doing. I have a hunch that we need to step up to the next level, but I can't guess how Cirro intends to do it.

Video analysis showed some Souths fowards walking at times, that is why we had a small bench.
.
The Panthers middle defence was built by Cirro, it is a similar system with similar standards.

We may have a plan to attack the edges, Panthers edge defence was suspect at times this season.

Team selection and game plan needs to be right for these big games, then the players need to stick to the plan and execute.

Panthers game is a key one as we will get to test ourselves against another top 8 side and title contender....

Broncos game without origin players will be a distorted result.

One win out of the 2 games would be the minimum CC would expect. Win both and its a bonus, lose both and worry will creep in.

No surprises in the top 17 for Panthers.

Additional players, Hughes, Morrin, Taaffe, Rinakama, Woods.

If Hughes is close to his best form then he is in the top 17, but no one deserves to be dropped.

If Kiraz isn't 100% then Rinakama might play right wing and team up with Kiraz again the Drongos.

Woods might come off the bench against the Drongos.

This game we need to avoid Cleary getting too much ball at our end, defence, kick chase and linespeed are part of that.

Marhoney was very good in defence against the Sharks in round 4, if he can reproduce that kind of defensive effort it will improve our chances.

Then perhaps Galvin comes off the bench in the last 20 minutes and wins the game.

I think Cirro rates Taaffe, no surprise that Turpin and Wilson are not in the squad. I've always liked Wilson, he has been ok this season, but was probably better last season.

Centres and second row are where we might have the attacking edge. Otherwise try to win with effort and defence.

We need to win both. It sets us up for a genuine shot at the title and proves that we are contenders.

Grant Atkins ref, I don't have s strong opinion on him.

We want the game to flow as a set for set contest with high completions, few penalties and 6-agains.

We don't want to give them cheap penalties coming out of their end, linespeed is important but don't jump the gun.

Panthers/Warriors, a lot of the Panthers' defensive intensity from the last 4 seasons was back, and they had good patches in attack.

However, at times there were gaping holes in the Warriors defence, one when DWZ was injured was unlucky. A couple of balls bounced for the Panthers, the Warriors just seemed a bit flat and disjointed and the injuries didn't help.

I won't be an easy game, but I wonder how good the Panthers are really going.

I'm more concerned about the Warriors, but I think Capewell being back will help.

Play mistake free footy. Kick long and chase hard. We can beat them all if we do.
Aim for Cleary's leg legally of course. We should beat them but will not be easy they will be up for this one . This game will show where both teams stand in this years comp ..

After watching the Sharks/Broncos game, I've given up on understanding the form lines.

We need to focus on building our game, defence, completions, kick chase, etc.

I am not sure how good Penrith are going to be, our best chance this game and for the rest of the season is to play to our full potential.

Cirro and the coaching team are good at spotting defensive weaknesses in the opposition. Get the rest of the game right, and we get an opportunity.

It should be a great game, I hope that we play to our full potential, I don't mind if the Panthers have an off night.

We either bank an easy win, or we learn a lot.
