English Premier League 🦁

Anyone playing EPL fantasy? Got to sort my team. Lose interest after 12 weeks to be honest but I want to try and get serious this season.

I'm going to make an all Aussie championship fantasy team
There is an official EFL fantasy game. I wonder if the website has improved. Different rules to EPL. Fun but tough given how many players there are.

Picked a rough team quickly last night and still have 11m budget. Every year there is some centre back who scores a few early.

Darlow to be Leeds keeper? Maybe. Hoping for a good Leeds and Sunderland opening day. New points when defenders have a combined 8 clearances, tackles etc so I think some Bournemouth players will have their work cut out against Liverpool.

Will Mbuemo be a hit at United?

I'm playing and already have a team sorted, this is my second season after starting out last season.
I've been going since 2006. Always a scramble to get the team sorted as you wish but it's a marathon season. I just love the annual 4.0 priced centre back who'll score and get a clean sheet on opening day.

My table prediction

1 Liverpool
2 Chelsea
3 Arsenal
4 Manchester City
5 Newcastle United
6 Aston Villa
7 Tottenham
8 Manchester United
9 Crystal Palace
10 Fulham
11 Everton
12 Nottingham Forest
13 Bournemouth
14 Brentford
15 West Ham
16 Leeds
17 Wolves
18 Brighton
19 Burnley
20 Sunderland

Hope some established clubs do go down. Need that refresh kick given the gap the money is creating.

Went over the transfers on Sky. A lot of clubs have released some really experienced, handy discards. Fitness and age aside, they could do a job.

Cresswell to Stoke at 35 is understandable. Everton released Docoure who'll go well on the continent at 32. Ben Mee is a really solid player. I didn't realise Hause had been injured at Villa for 3 years.

Also interesting to note some massive fees paid yet the players are pretty raw and may not be of the grade. Fulham have hardly recruited but have a strong core.

I was hoping for the same thing. Sunderland and Leeds are big clubs with huge 'noisy' support. They will make the Premier League more vibrant. My list is probably based on hope.....

Some of these smaller London clubs are devoid of any kind of football atmosphere at their games.

I luv seeing Leeds back ! have a soft spot for them going back the Div1 days and being a utter enemy to united and Sunderland after what they have gone through the last 5yrs or more.....Black Kats are back.
Burnley got back up on the back of sound defense but lacked scoring goals where back in the EPL this is going to challenge them big time.

At this early stage fighting relo for me
Burnley
Sunderland
I'll bundle United/Hammers/Wolves in the mix.

Top end
LFC
City
Chelsea
Arse

I wouldn't be surprised to see united sneak into Top 6. They have no Europe to worry about. Can solely focus on the league. Virtually 1 game a week.

Spurs on the other hand have had a pretty ordinary transfer window so far with the enigma in Kudus coming in and most of their issues remaining unresolved. They also have Champs League to juggle (3 games a week at certain points this season). Can't see them finishing above 10th.

United will have alot of competition to sneak into the 6 over 38 games, plus 3 Cup comps despite NO EU.
They lose Bruno to injury for a period they are toast imo he's such a driver.
Mbeumo and Cunha will be interesting and the bulk of their buying funds it seems.
One wonders now why they shifted lanky McTominay who has excelled in SerieA.
There is alot off loading but they are NOT in a position to over spend like they used to and as you mentioned re Spurs alot of unsolved issues United have as well.
They missed out on any finish cash bonus's ala the Europa final, their debt.
Gonna be fascinating viewing.

Manchester United suffered their worst campaign in the Premier League era when they came 15th. They are the only side outside last season's top four to have spent more than Manchester City this summer, but most of their £133.5m outlay has been on two forwards - Cameroon international Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford and Brazilian Matheus Cunha from Wolves.

Poor Ange, he would have liked spending 122.5M for this season to date.

If United get Sesko and Newcasle lose izsak then it becomes really interesting.

yes and no, all it does is makes the mid table battle to 6th all the more competitive.
Both have to deal with Brighton/Villa/Brentford/Fulham/Bournemouth/Forest and the usual hot colder suspects who may have improved some or not.
Winning at home regularly will be United's main directive after the debacles of last season, I haven't seen much backline improvements that I know of ?
Midfield especially a soild /reliable 6 ?
GK ? Onana is ordinary as.
Amorin seems to be focussing on strikers more than anywhere else and states we will see different things - cant wait.

Feel the gaps are set this season across the table. Would love 8 weeks of upsets but that also means one big team probably rises and it makes it boring at the top.

Most analysis suggests Spurs and Sunderland have the lightest first few matches based on strength of the draw. Anything can happen but there might be a few smokies for fantasy.
