2025 Hahn Australia Cup

Yes I get that if Liverpool ever sank to those depths I would feel the same but flip the thing around and look from the bottom up and if your team had the chance to play better opposition, move higher in the leagues etc the excitement can be just as good (well nearly ;) ) imagine if a Preston or Marconi were mixing it in the A League or the NST thats where the game grows from the ground up to me
Agree, but we have already been here and look how it ended up.

I would love two divisions but can't see it succeeding.

Don't get me wrong i still attended and watched the lower league games, but fuck it was a struggle. I never got to the stage where i lost any interest though. I do try and watch championship and early cup rounds, but it just doesn't interest me anymore, just like international boreball and the fake Champions league.
oh no doubt would have been damn tuff, as KK mentions been fortunate LFC never experienced all my years following but in a different way I have been watching APIA last 20yrs like they were demoted to the shadows and that sure has been trying over some seasons.

I get the CL perspective but we come from different times/eras compared to my 2 sons and the likes who luv what they see.
Hey I can't stand the softness the play acting and VAR whereas others see it as some kind of progress/balancer.

Least Cup football is ok viewing still but even that is not the same as it once was.

We need you on board re 2 divs instead of seeing it negatively, we NEED it more than ever.

I'll tell you where we can improve after the match reports. Should be articles telling you 1-10 how players preformed and a rap up show or something
Now I'm confused. Don't all clubs have someone in here who writes up after each match they watch?

Even if they get the score wrong from time to time and don't know who they are watching?

Yes, I am being facetious :)

The opposite for me, and i mean in every country in the world. If it is not in the top league i have zero interest in it. The four seasons that Rangers were in the lower leagues, were the worst four seasons of my 50 odd years as a supporter, truly dreadful.
But you STILL followed them no?

4 seasons? pffft amateur, try doing it for 21 years WITHOUT any hope of promotion, not because your not good enough on the pitch but because the whole system is fucked....

Heres an idea, maybe just go off the crowds we cant record, off the comp we arent being given...

What the cup proves (it seems to all other than the FA) is that the crowds are there (dormant a little perhaps) but you need the comp to deliver accordingly.. which is our argument all along, with a h&a comp the cream again will rise on and off the park..
Round of 32 crowd attendances,
Peninsula Power v Western Sydney Wanderers: 1,839
Avondale FC v Stirling Macedonia: 855
Darwin Olympic v Nunawading City: 756
Northern Tigers v Sydney United: 1,161
Adelaide Croatia Raiders v Cooks Hill United: 650
Heidelberg United v Weston Bears: 525
South Hobart v South Melbourne: 2,077
Perth Glory v Wellington Phoenix: 1,141
SD Raiders v Macarthur: 2,716
Gold Coast Knights v Auckland FC: 1,517
Western United v Sydney FC: 1,347
Olympic Kingsway v Melbourne Victory: 3,033
Brisbane City v Olympic FC: 2,271
Newcastle Jets v Adelaide United: TBA
Canberra Croatia v North Eastern MetroStars: 1,286
APIA Leichhardt Tigers v Melbourne City: 2,793

Don’t get me wrong, I love the Cup and it will keep building year upon year I believe. But which of these crowds are pass marks? Probably only Olympic Kingsway v Victory, SD Raiders v MacArthur, and Apia v City?

Yeah except you forget 90% of those were in winter and midweek though!

Is it not meant to be a winter sport ? Anyway, Australia does not get proper winters and the rest of the world play twice week.
So why do YOU play in summer then as the 'premier' comp? Ohh thats right bc youre scared to go head to head with the afl and nrl!

But since your looking for an answer heres a clearer one:
Aleague:
Western United v Sydney FC: 1,347
Perth Glory v Wellington Phoenix: 1,141
Vs
NPL:
APIA v Melbourne City: 2,793
S Hobart v South Melbourne: 2,077

Does this mean we have a case for a swap out???

I dont need to look at the rest of the world, we are on the 'arse end' remember where everythingnis opposite!

Yes, ALL, dreadful crowds played in sub standards parks.

You must have missed this post :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Nah mate, I didnt miss the post, thats what I was getting too, even in a lower league YOU still followed YOUR club above all others... The Aleague premise to attract "football fans" goes against that.

An equivalence would have been an SPL marketing exec targeting Rangers fans with "never mind your "old" club, jump on the Celtic bandwagon, "youv'e gotta have a team" ...

dont bother replying I can smell the vomit from here... :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

The two all Aleague matches above should be the benchmark, any NPL figure above that is more than a "pass mark" if you are truthfully comparing apples to apples.

Well it's advertising init

You get those fucking KFC ads nek minnit people go to KFC
DUDE, to see the KFC add you have to be watching first... thats my point... A kid not interested in watching even 10 min highlights of football isnt going to watch a bunch of stiffs sitting ont eh couch talking about which player did what and how many xGs make the best betting odds for passes completed or whatever trainspotting bullshit a panel show would dross out....

Thats like expecting the hundred thousand plus Wrexham and Milan merch buyers and event goers to tune into an actual Australian football match this year because of a result one way or another....

Your club has already tried to give away KFC (or was it Maccas?) for free to get people to games and nobody came, what makes you think an add would change their minds?
