Would love people to recruitIf only we had a Heidelberg or Olympic or Adelaide City supporter on this forum. Shows how old and moribund those clubs currently are. Results notwithstanding.
But somehow Oakleigh's ONE supporter (and he is not even a real supporter) exists here.
So you're telling me as a member of the club that your board has never shown interest? Why would he need their support? Unless I'm wrong, Oakleigh never applied to join this league, so quite frankly i don't think they care if they support them or not, they don't want in this league, atleast not yet.
You could probably align Heidelberg to Oakleigh these days...the 12 supporters they have these days are Octogenarians who regularly attend and anything over 200 people at Olympic Village is seen as a success. Pretty sad really!Would love people to recruit
Planning pods with f8 clubs to lure people into the forum
South melbourne fans do not seem to like oakleigh fans!So you're telling me as a member of the club that your board has never shown interest?

Difference here is that the bergers do have a support its just gone stale like knights whether its bc of board decisions, wrong marketing, who knows..... they had a huge majoruty fan base at the AU cup vs city in 2015 saw about 12k at the village, they need to be enticed bc they dont just dissapear! So you're telling me as a member of the club that your board has never shown interest?

I don't know Ian, all i can say is they had no interest in the past, i can 110% promise you that was the case. I don't know about now, if they are, cool good luck to them, but i doubt they are interested, they know they'll probably struggle with travelling, fan attendance etc etc.So you're telling me as a member of the club that your board has never shown interest?

No we hate all 10 of themSouth melbourne fans do not seem to like oakleigh fans!
It’s the same with Olympic, despite them not having a representative on here, I can assure you they do have support, they’re just fickle. Again, clearly the sorts of people who are interested in the sport and the club, but don’t see the dead end state league as worthy of their time. As seen re the massive crowd for a pre season friendly v south Melb a few years back (4,000+ was quoted at the time). There were plenty of people of all ages there that day, lots of old merch. And they do have vocal fans who are active online, just not on this forum for some reasonDifference here is that the bergers do have a support its just gone stale like knights whether its bc of board decisions, wrong marketing, who knows..... they had a huge majoruty fan base at the AU cup vs city in 2015 saw about 12k at the village, they need to be enticed bc they dont just dissapear!
We still don't know why, we're just chilling here like what? We have an enemy? What did we do lol. Most of the Oakleigh supporters above 45 are/we're South Melbourne supporters anyway lolNo we hate all 10 of them
Id suggest asking Aki and co why?We still don't know why, we're just chilling here like what? We have an enemy? What did we do lol. Most of the Oakleigh supporters above 45 are/we're South Melbourne supporters anyway lol
Got nothing to do with me or the supporters mate, that's your business if you got beef with him haha.Id suggest asking Aki and co why?
If i still lived in oakleigh id be their fanI've actually never met an Oakleigh fan, i struggle to be convinced if thats even a thing. I've seen this mob smoke us in numerous big games the past few seasons and every time they score its pretty much dead silence outside a bit of noise from the commitee.
I dislike Oakleigh as a club but i've never ever interacted with a supporter in real life. Heidelberg on the other hand i dont mind the club but genuinely dislike a portion of their supporters that blame South for everything (middle aged ones). I do have a lot of respect for their elderly supporters though, loyal as they come and i recognise those faces from as far back as the early 90s, if they are still alive they still follow, respect.
I miss the South oldies, lakeside is very hard to get to for them and they dont bother, sure you'd rather your fan base skews younger, which ours does (compared to the rest bar Preston) but its noticeable how few of them there are (relative to heidelberg)

Who said I was a South fan??South melbourne fans do not seem to like oakleigh fans!
Not political at all... I have supported every single NPL club we have faced and, in the last decade alone, I reckon Ive been away to over 20-25 different NPL clubs around Victoria, paid my entry, bought food and drink, engaged with the home fans, had a laugh, cheered on my team and been made to feel welcome and respected... Clubs who are dreaded rivals, with fans who give us a very very hard time and often hostility during the match tend to be the most authentic, respectful people and I will happily spend my dollar at Somers St, BT O'Connor, Paisley park, Frank Holohan, OV, Dandy Thunder, Hume City etc etc etc...You do you mate. If you can look past all the political bs and just go enjoy the game and have fun watching your boys play, then great, have a good time. It's your time and money, but i wouldn't let the political side of things ruin your enjoyment of the sport. Isn't this the last game of South Melbourne being in the npl? I guess that might be worth going for alone, i don't know.
Je Suis Hellas??Who said I was a South fan??
