really I didnt realize that we pay a central head office for the right to operate as a football club I thought we whre members owned and a community not for profit sporting organisation? You learn something new every day I guess.... As for Middle Park, bit hard to play under 4 feet of asphalt but if that makes us a real club I guess we can always try.South Melbourne is a McFranchise playing at Lakeside. The moment they gave up their home, South Melbourne became a franchise begging to be allowed into the closed shop franchise.
Yeah Iceland and Swiss leagues are chockful of "graduates".Il give it to the A-League it is a professional league, it seems like now we are finally exporting youngish players to bigger or middling euro clubs since maybe late NSL era?
3 times if you count the Glucksberg cunts.....They did, getting fucked by the Germans twice!
and India..... and Moldova like RIak.... hahahahahahhahaha, NPL's exports go to Iceland!
wtf dude? Is this a dig at Kouli or somethign else Im missing?Nah nah nah, you ride or die that shit. America voted Trump. Greece voted Golden Dawn. Accept the reality.
Nah, just banter dude ... play onI think our friend has some issues...

You really havent been paying attention have you????If Souths were part of the “franchise league” from the get go, the same anti a-league Souths fans would be calling the franchise league the greatest league on planet earth.
There were alot of non-ethnic clubs as part of the NSL , what did THEY do to save the league?
What is the APL doing now to market the game to a new exiting fan base? Or to bring in more geographical McFranchises and to stop some of the smaller ones from folding? Where is the 16th club promised to start next season?
I understand you have been lead to beleive the myth that the Aleague is some sort of superior organisational structure but it really isnt mate.... take away the "wog names" from the NSL and its really the same shit, rinse and repeat from 30 years ago .... you'll see.

For the 1000th time, yes perhaps, for a while, many South fans would be excited to be in the top league (what tru football fan DOESN'T want ti be in teh top flight?) but if it meant losing the club and its identity to sign over the IP to some foreign dildo and a venture investment fund it would have grown to groans of discontent pretty quick..
I thank the football Gods every day that all of our previous bids were rejected.. don't ever want to be one of the deck chairs on a sinking ship again.
Any other "historical" whatabaoutisms you wanna bring into the conversation? You haven't mentioned the fact that South Melbourne finished last on the table in 1979 and didnt get relegated ....
Adelaide United from pretty much their first match, Perth Glory too.... Newcastle never did and probably never will. How many of those non ethnic clubs were actually pulling half decent crowds and had some sort of media traction? Glory and then towards the end Adelaide and Newcastle, and here they are to this day.
I’ve never said or believe the a-league is a superior comp. The national league needed a reset no matter how we spin it.
I thoroughly enjoy away days at Allianz Stadium, Commbank, AAMI compared to BOB Jane, Endorsor Park, Belmore etc. An away trip to Tarneit next year will be interesting though![]()
just let it go dude ..... same conversation over and over again ... just enjoy your non-consequential sports entertainment... its safe and mainstream....NSL didn’t have promotion and relegation, why weren’t you blokes crying for it back then?

Good, what Im sure you DON"T enjoy is the fact the Glory achieved massive crowds against South Melbourne in the NSL but sadly not in the Aleague against .... well anyone really except for Grand Finals....I enjoyed Glory cleaning up the NSL then choking in the big games on a constant basis, I enjoy glory being a shambles on the pitch the current league.
I can't wait for pro rel so you get relegated again.Considering I didn't exist...
6/10 .. would help your score if we ever really relegated to begin with .....I can't wait for pro rel so you get relegated again.
HardlyI think our friend has some issues...

I could be wrong but after nearly 3 decades this si still your highest regular season crowd?

Of all the Aleague fanbases that should be crying for the old clubs to come back it should be Perth, as you say, we only attract foreigners and if so there are plenty of Greeks, Italians and Croatians living in Perth who will come out to cheer against Glory.![]()
