Would the Bundesliga be too much of a step up for him? I don't think anyone has gone from Aleague to playing regularly in Germany without dropping down a level first. St Pauli seem to play with one striker, so would be tough to get a starting spot. Having said that they don't look to have anyone who stands out up front.

A bit unexpected. Swansea only finished 11th last season so you'd think Ipswich would be stronger, as would be Valencia and Girona obviously. I'm not sure if Ipswich offered him a new contract. Swansea have a new manager and been making a few signings so might be ambitious. The other consideration is that Swansea might appeal to Burgess as the safest option to get regular playing time leading up to next year's WC.
Ipswich did offer a new contract. I wonder if it was contract terms that decided it.
