    A-League Mens 24/25 - Round 27 + Round 16

Auckland need 6 points from the next 3 games to claim the premiership with 53 points. They can also win with 5 points from the next 3 games, as long as City doesn't win all 3 as well as manages to close the GD gap (unlikely for city). We can assume Auckland will probably take 3 points against...

Looking at the Transfermrkt values (obviously not the best source but it's an easy metric to compare), the top valued A-League side is SFC @ €9.38m and the lowest is BR @ €4.65m. From a value perspective that puts the top A-League sides in the bottom half of League One. However the bottom valued...

Should the a league continue with the salary cap?

The whole "rich clubs will always win" thing also is a bit interesting when you start digging around at the numbers. It would have been about 10 years ago, I was shown a spreadsheet of salary dollars spent vs competition points earned in the A-League. I'm pretty sure this data was confidential...

Should the a league continue with the salary cap?

It's not that they aren't bothered, it's more about why would they spend more. Just because an owner is wealthy, doesn't mean the club is. These are businesses like any other and have budgets like any other. I remember back in the Arnie era of SFC, he said they had a combined marquee budget of...

    A-League Mens 24/25 - Round 26

Could still be a good game. City v Roar are nearly always good games. City still technically a possibility for the premiership and even if they can't quite get there, they will want to shoot for that 2nd spot and ACL spot. Other games should all be good. Nix v MV - MV could still drop out of...

Should the a league continue with the salary cap?

Has any professional sport in Australia even attempted to make it work? I can't think of any. There is P&R in the NPL. Doesn't seem to be a problem there.

To his credit, it seems like he has definitely learned from past errors in his coaching career. It's so often we see coaches just dig their heels in and refuse to change, but JA seems to have taken the right approach and actively worked on improving over the years. Back when he was rumoured for...

Should the a league continue with the salary cap?

Salary cap (in it's current format) is dumb. Salary floor is even dumber, especially now that the grant money was reduced to $530k.

    A-League Mens 24/25 - Round 25

It's a bit of a weird situation that you don't see that often. On one hand, they have scored the 3rd highest number of goals at 48 which is only 2 off the highest (WSW 50). On the other hand they have conceded the second highest number of goals (also 48), which puts them between Roar and Glory...

Jack Duncan is missing from that list. He played the first 13 games for MV before Langerak arrived.

Big difference then was we knew what an advertisement looked or sounded like. It was very clear and was heavily regulated. It's not so clear now, it's all blurred together. Non-disclosed sponsored content left right and center. Micro-transactions draining bank accounts. Training kids to gamble...

Ryan Reynolds-owned Wrexham set to face Melbourne Victory

Unless the tickets are super cheap, Marvel would be hard to fill. When Celtic played MV at AAMI, they got 20k and Wrexham is quite a few rungs below Celtic. It's a bit of an odd one. When a big EPL club comes here, fans get excited at the opportunity to see some proper big name players live...

The saddest thing I heard this week, was when I asked my niece (19 year old) what music she's listening to at the moment. She replied, "I kinda stopped listening to music at the moment because I don't know what to listen to and Spotify always plays the same stuff". Breaks my heart, what these...

Not dead, but definitely dying. The numbers don't lie. There is not going to be some resurgence back towards tv, radio and newspapers. Youth simply aren't interested. What's in their pocket is what matters.
