Sign Up Now!The problems of professional sporting teams in Australia not owning their own grounds, another thing the sporting capital of world sport ( self proclaimed) can’t do right.Driving to office this morn Allianz came up again in the news since all the rain we've had and question is will the ground hold up it has 3/4 NRL games this weekend.
So much giggles - were expecting more off/on showers through Wednesday and more Thursday, Fridays game I'm sure will hold up ok but the remining the pitch will be a mess - no matter how much heating they apply from the top underneath will give more and more due to the traffic.
Sutho - isn't the sporting capital Melb ? so we're led to believe. The problems of professional sporting teams in Australia not owning their own grounds, another thing the sporting capital of world sport ( self proclaimed) can’t do right.
Actually the Aussie bogan believes, Australia to be the sporting capital of the world, not bleak city.Sutho - isn't the sporting capital Melb ? so we're led to believe.
As for SFS, yes I prefer the ol name, its been a surface issue for ages might I say, long before the rebuild.
The rebuild should have had that roof that was on the plans originally, we know why not approved, stupid is stupid now thats the prob with Aussie sport and Govs for decades.
Just read this, seriously depressing, fuck Leichhardt for the money I pay.new update - Sydney FC,
We also want to update you on Allianz Stadium’s availability.
We are in ongoing discussions with Venues NSW & APL regarding scheduling, and while the full extent of the maintenance period is still being confirmed, it’s now likely we’ll be displaced for a minimum of three, and a maximum of four, home matches during the early part of the 2025/26 season.
All remaining nine/ten home games during the season will be played at Allianz Stadium.
We expect to finalise the venues for these early fixtures shortly, with Leichhardt Oval being the most likely one.
However, we also still await the A-League Men’s season draw which is set to be delayed a few more weeks until the current situation with Western United’s participation is resolved."
I could be wrong but I believe the Australian Championship vehicle for Syd Olympic is separate to the club and is fully funded by Hanlin.MON
HHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh could be Olympic or associates of Olympic have or sorry are becoming part of the A_l..... those Sydney siders heroes ..... wonders aloud how this will go down in the SM board room .... or whether or maybe you get WU's licence...
While United’s future remains in doubt, the cloud hanging over Central Coast Mariners might have lifted, with speculation that Sydney Olympic president Damon Hanlin has made a multimillion-dollar investment into the Gosford-based foundation A-League club.
Hanlin is understood to have met with the Mariners squad, who are scheduled to play a trial match against Brisbane Roar on August 24 at Sunshine Coast Stadium.
