A-League Mens 24/25 - Round 16

How was that a yellow for Miranda? Are you not allowed to run next to a player? If anything the Sydney forward made contact with his shin looking for it.

I agree somewhat - but it was a foul (accidental) that stopped a promising attack so I think that is what made it yellow more than the contact itself warranted.

Is anyone else having problems with Paramount? It's saying that the WSW v Auckland game is locked, but it just kicked off on Fotmob?!!!

You still having trouble? Mine is fine.

I had trouble once because I was going to the US Paramount page instead of the Aussie one - just in case.

He he hee - too late I see you are in.

All good mate - was just getting frustrated. Was really looking forward to watching some footy on Australia Day

Auckland FC look the real deal this season, I’ve been impressed with their foreign players they all look quality especially May and Moreno.

Interesting game against AU.

Auckland's off the ball game is impressive with their disciplined Squeezing and Full Pressing game.

However, their players lack technique - overall. They aren't going to get much better.

AU played some beautiful football trying to get out of their half, initially struggling to create shots on goal. AU are proactive. Auckland are reactive. AU, with so many young players, are only going to get better.

Also, being older and bigger, Auckland won a lot of the 1v1s involving body on body contact - I don't have stats to support this though.

Although Melb Vic played well in the first 25 mins, I thought the game v Sydney, was both teams playing below their best. I think Machach was a bit lost without Arzani on the pitch. They have a good understanding.

Arzani did some good defensive work, but after the Popa rocket, it appears he doesn't work hard enough on the training track. This gifted player, is shooting badly ATM too. Whereas his dribbling, passing and moving, flicks, first touch, fast handling speed, running with the ball, and even his blocks, tracking back, tackles, body on body 1v1s, all continue to improve.

Segecic continues to show flashes, whereas Valadon is becoming a consistent 90 min player. Valadon is so effective at being the main player to build up from the back. He needs so little space and time to receive and pass the ball on to teammates. His off the ball work defensively, and offensively, continues to improve. He is becoming a good tackler too. Plus he has good vision and a decent range of passing.

You must be pleased with the final result!

Those 50 step-overs before losing the ball sure look fancy to footballing smooth brains.

Having been keeping an eye on Arzani since he was at MC, his needless step overs and dribbles have been reduced. He does pass the ball more and is able to release players, specially Machach. His over-confidence is an issue but not as much as 6 years ago. He is able to draw players and the release the ball. Do I think he will continue to improve? Maybe. His biggest problem is between his ears.

Arzani doesn't use step-overs much. He prefers to use body swerves, la Croquetas and Elastics. Also, changes of pace.

And, he beats a lot of opponents using them - quite often.
