A-League Mens 24/25 - Round 25

Hard disagree.

They’ve been around 6 months.

Auckland will be just like phoenix in 2 years.

They have had the dream start handed to them on a platter.

Let’s see how they are after the sugar hit.

Hmm, sounds like the Wanderers in that case. Maybe they should be kicked out first as they've done sweet FA for longer.

And phoenix football is absolute bog standard basic. IMO phoenix haven’t improved anything about the league full stop. On the pitch, off the pitch.

Their fans are good I get that - both teams. As football clubs they just should not be here.

Phoenix last year and Auckland this year raised the league standard, doesn't mean the Aussie clubs raised theirs. It would've been dire without the NZ clubs, literally in the best two or three clubs, that means without them the standard is lower. Saying Wellington haven't improved anything off the pitch either then saying their fans are good, that's a very quick contradiction haha.

Anyway, we'll agree to disagree and enjoy the weekend!

Not really a contradiction. Their fans are good doesn’t mean anything. Perth glory fans are good too.

Phoenix crowds on average are absolutely horrible for a team that represented an entire nation. They should’ve been booted 5 years ago. Their crowds have not improved the league, they had decent crowds for a short period and now fading fast again.

However they’re generally good sports at away games.

There one of only a few clubs that have been very stable at keeping the books afloat, never needing a bailout or sell off. They have had more Johnny Warren Medalist come from the club then any other ALM side, Rojas, Smeltz, Baba, Davilla, Fijian flyer Roy Karishna just to name a few and have brought in many of the best overseas players to grace the ALM. What have Roar done in the last 7 seasons? There crowds are lower then the Nixs. There ambition is zero.

Nomates just because roar owners are shit doesn't mean the entire city doesn't deserve a team c'mon lad

Phoenix shouldn't just keep the books afloat, they're taking the spot of an aussie club. It's a handout for them so they should be romping in the books. Aussie clubs have a right to struggle.

'Have brought in many of the best overseas players to grace the ALM.' is an absolute stretch tbh.

If shoe was on the other how do you reckon the locals would react if 2 Aussie sides were there and talk of a third?

Surely it's best for NZ football to just start their own thing

The NZ teams have raised the league standard for the past two seasons.
They've given the league finances to survive.
If anything, they're showing up how shit the Australian clubs are run.
Their fans are arguably the best spirited.
And I think three NZ clubs would be the limit.

Agree on all of these

Where are the cities/groups splashing cash for teams in Australia? Auckland had someone prepared to do that. Australia does not (currently, some fool may part with $20 million one day though).

How's that Canberra bid working out for u?

How's that Canberra bid working out for u?

What do you mean for me? I have nothing to do with Canberra

IDGAF about canberra....but if they started a team, they'd have more right to be there than the teet-sucking kiwis.

It's a good game.

Wanderers definitely the better side in the first half.

Wanderers had a goal disallowed for a player coming back from offside to get involved, then Lawrence Thomas slipped over and passed the ball straight to an Auckland forward who scored a good but uncontested goal.

There was mention of the grass not being mowed because a mower packed it in and blew out hydraulic fluid on the grass at Auckland's defensive end to the left of the keeper - hopefully that does not come into play with an oiled ball anytime in the game.

King is allowing a lot of play to continue and not rewarding players dropping when they have no way through.

Remember when the last time Roar had a home final at Dolphine stadium and only 7k turned up>? ffs 7k!! Pathetic. season after season Bris Roar are woeful. Look at the Nix and CCM sure they had a few bad seasons not as many as Roar but they have done well and produce way better youth players then Bris Roar could dream of. No excuses Roar is a dead beat club in a dead beat state. QLD is poison when it comes to pro football. Gold coast was a joke so was Nth QLD Fury. The club needs to get its act together or just fk off for good. They are a drag on the ALM no matter how much u want to polish them in light. And the sad thing is my paramount subscription is funding this club, rather see it go to a new club like Canberra or Christchurch hell even Sth Melb.

The only teams that should be booted are Nix and Auckland. Get you own league.

Adelaide can't buy a goal. They should be 4 up, instead they're 1 down.
